The idea of exporting began to grow, with Toyota distribution centres overseas taking two forklifts in 1960 and 22 forklifts in 1961.
As the Japanses government encouraged its domestic industries to expand with the help of free trade agreements, Toyota responded by improving its quality and production methos. Its exports began to increase dramatically.
