House Gas Explosion
This once beautiful house suffered a gas explosion tonight at around 9:50pm. There was a young couple and their baby inside at the time. They escaped and were taken to the hospital.

Today's warm weather really made the Magnolia trees blossoms on my block burst full blown. Very welcome floral explosions compared to those actual explosions from the Marathon bombings in my neighborhood two days ago. A quick iPhone capture as the sun lowered near the horizon. A gorgeous spring day in Boston.
Fireboats spray water as smoke pours from a fire on the Vermilion 380 production platform in the Gulf of Mexico September 2, 2010. The United States Coast Guard and the company that owns the platform, Houston-based Mariner Energy, said all 13 people aboard at the time of the morning explosion which started the fire had been rescued with no injuries. Weymouth Carnival 2012. decided to have a my first go at capturing some fireworks. a few seconds worth of exposure i found quite hard to do just by hand maybe if i get a chance i will go back with the tripod to see what effects i can get on longer exposures.
Explosions today all across London, why? Well, we don't know yet. All we can know is that some lives have been utterly shattered today.
It's all taken place on my exact route to work.. if I'd been any earlier, well who knows. There are fatalities and the general opinion is that it's Al Quaeda

Friends came over with a bacon explosion, which we then proceeded to light on fire with flaming scotch whisky.
And here's the same plant "explosion" featured in the earlier uploaded image...
This happens when the Photoshop Elements software program applies a "glowing edges" filter to the image...
I'm not sure which one I find more visually appealing....

Bears are right at home in trees, and this little yearling male is no exception as he effortlessly navigates his way from branch to branch...Bears have been documented denning(winter sleep)in the branches of trees...
A thing I love to observe are the shocked expressions on the faces of folks who have never seen bears in the wild before as the animals run up a tree in a blurred explosion of energy which terminates in 400-500 lb animals at the top of 30-100 foot or taller trees in the space of one or two human breaths, such is an eye-opener to be sure...

Cordon tape has been drawn across the road to prevent cars from driving down towards the sight of the gas explosion in South Harrow.
Two cottages, each two stories tall on Stanley Road, opposite South Harrow station, have been totally destroyed and raised to the ground during a massive gas explosion tonight at around 21:40. I was sitting in my kitchen at the dining table updating a blog when I heard and felt a massive explosion. The shock was physically shook me and all the trees outside suddenly swayed. The sound of the explosion was extremely loud and left me feeling quite stunned. I immediately with out the patio door to look around but there was nothing immediately noticeable. Within about 2 minutes I stated to hear police sirens and then helicopters flying ahead. I decided to rush down the road (stupid idea, I know) and go and investigate. Apparently all the residents in the immediate area around the explosion have been evacuated. I counted at least 8 fire engines and 6 ambulances and far too many police cars to count. As I approached the disaster zone I could see police cars cordoning off roads and telling people on foot to stay back. Wow, and I just heard on the news that it's possible that no one has been killed, although one person is being treated for injuries! Amazing! Totally and utterly amazing!
