This was one of those evenings where there was mist and fog around. I was hoping for a nice clear sunset but it all turned a bit muddy. I suppose on the plus side, it gave some interest in the sky. The sun glowed orange as it set behind a bank of fog. Shot vertical to include some of the blue sky above the fog. 3 bracketed shots taken on a tripod for this. Merged in CS6. You could say this shot has that painterly feel to it.
Pacific Explorer.
Built by the Italian ship builder Fincantieri at a cost of US $300 million Dawn Princess was launched 11th July 1996 with her maiden voyage taking place 10th May 1997.
Owned originally by the Carnival Corporation the Dawn Princess was destined to service the Australian sailing season between October 2006 and March 2007 which would have meant that she would have been the largest cruise ship to be based in Australian waters.
Carnival announced on 7th October 2015 that Dawn Princess would be transferred to its subsidiary company in Australia P&O Cruises where it would undergo a name change.
On 26 May 2017 at Sembawang Singapore dry dock the newly named Pacific Explorer underwent a refurbishment before being put back into service.

I am so overwhelmed.
My photo media class has proven to be INCREDIBLY difficult. Also, I'm still in a bit of a rut when it comes to how I feel about being in college. I love photography, but I feel like I question it way too much at times.
I want everything to just be easier to deal with already. Come on October, don't let me down.
I've never pulled off a train shot I've been happy with, should I be chuffed with this?! Reached #35 on Explore, thank you for your interest and kind comments!
Explore! Thanks guys. Another drop shot taken a while back. This was probably one of the best crowns we got. Milk into black food dye. For more shots please see www.flickr.com/photos/alex_b_ates/
