"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.
Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away. "
— Henry David Thoreau.
It means basically to go to your own beat, do your own thing no matter what everyone else is doing. Be an individual.
If I do not want what you want, please try not to tell me that my want is wrong.
Or if I believe other than you, at least pause before you correct my view.
Or if my emotion is less than yours, or more, given the same circumstances, try not to ask me to feel more strongly or weakly.
Or yet if I act, or fail to act, in the manner of your design for action, let me be.
I do not, for the moment at least, ask you to understand me. That will come only when you are willing to give up changing me into a copy of you.

“O silêncio não é a simples ausência de ruídos ou
a interrupção da comunicação com o mundo exterior,
mas o processo de atingir um estado de tranqüilidade.
A solitude silenciosa faz nascer o verdadeiro discurso.
Não falo de isolamento físico; solitude aqui significa
está sozinho com o Só, experimentando o Outro
transcendente e crescendo na percepção da própria
identidade como alguém amado”.
Brennan Manning

Tide receding quickly at Hopewell Rocks Park, Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick.
The Hopewell Rocks, also called the Flowerpots Rocks or simply The Rocks, are rock formations caused by tidal erosion in The Hopewell Rocks Ocean Tidal Exploration Site in New Brunswick. They stand 40–70 feet tall.
They are located on the shores of the upper reaches of the Bay of Fundy at Hopewell Cape near the end of a series of Fundy coastal tourism hubs including Fundy National Park and the Fundy Trail. Due to the extreme tidal range of the Bay of Fundy, the base of the formations are covered in water twice a day. However, it is possible to view the formations from ground level at low tide.
The formations consist of dark sedimentary conglomerate and sandstone rock. The large volume of water flowing in to and out of the Bay of Fundy modifies the landscape surrounding it. After the retreat of the glaciers in the region following the last ice age, surface water filtering through cracks in the cliff has eroded and separated the formations from the rest of the cliff face. Meanwhile, advancing and retreating tides and the associated waves have eroded the base of the rocks at a faster rate than the tops, resulting in their unusual shapes. (Wikipedia.)

Many people think trials are proof of God's nonexistence. I, however, see Him now more than ever.
This has been the hardest week of my life. I am exhausted. But I can see God's picture. I might not know exactly how He is going to execute His plan, but I can already see the good in this extremely tough situation.
The body of Christ has everything it should be the past two days. Furthermore, God has been faithful as He always is and true to His Word. I am thankful and encouraged.
