Glow from sunrise on Forget Me Not Pond, Kananaskis minutes after the shot I took after the moon setting!
I tried, while not using Bev's tripod, to control the bright sunlight with a flower. It's always a surprise and a real thrill to find one of your images in Explore - thank you for your visits, favourites and comments, all are most appreciated!
Have I ever taken a photo with the sun fully in the frame.....? If I have, it's very, very rare!
When staying in Bridport, it would be very rude NOT to take a photo or two of Colmer's Hill!!
We arrived Monday afternoon, warm with a clear forecast as the night went on so I set a 5am alarm for the first morning of my holiday hoping for some low mist.....
This was with the 85mm - Because I decided not to take the Contax 80-200/4 on holiday.....

The kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) is a fascinating bird of prey that is commonly found in Central Europe. It is known for its characteristic shaking flight, during which it hovers in the air to look for prey1. In 2007, the kestrel was named bird of the year in Germany and in 2008 in Switzerland1.
The appearance of the kestrel shows a pronounced sexual dimorphism. Males have a grey head and reddish-brown back with small black spots, while females are uniformly reddish-brown in colour. They are adaptable birds that also breed in cities and other human settlements, often in tall buildings or towers.
.......raccogliamo tutti i fiori, che può darci primavera
costruiamole una culla, per amarci quando è sera
poi saliamo su nel cielo, e prendiamole una stella,
perché Margherita è buona, perché Margherita è bella.

Uncropped. This male came so close that I almost thought he was going to fly into my lens. Luckily he sat down on a branch 2m in front of me and didn't move for a while. He only just fitted into the frame!

I grew up visiting this billabong with my father & grandfather, so it has always been a special place for me. I'm not usually a morning person, however I was up this morning as part Shutterbug's Canola Masterclass to take photos of the canola in flower, and thought due to the fog this location may be better. Even though it wasn’t Canola no one seemed to care with this vista in front of them. I love the light picking up the fog rising off the water, and the sun rays through the branches of the tree. It's just a beautiful moment captured at a beautiful location.

The weather hasn't been kind on our holiday which is coming to an end. We took a walk this evening, on the beach near Bamburgh Castle, hoping for a nice sunset but were disappointed - so the Moody was myself! Because we'd made the effort though, I decided to try and find a nice composition and the bright sea weed caught my eye. I was very surprised to see this reach #171 in Explore, thank you all for your kind comments and favourites.
This was reason number 1 for booking a short break along the Exmoor Coast.

I arrived well before sunrise on lake Almsee in Austria. The sky was clear and early fog was just starting to lift off the still lake allowing a perfect mirror image of the surrounding trees and mountains.
A lone hiker explores the huge rock canyons, arches, and windows early in the morning. There's an almost endless supply of rock formations to explore and daybreak is the best time to do so. The rock almost glows red in color as the low angle sun hits it for the first time.

I know these don't come out perfect. I know the IQ certainly isn't there. The colours can be a bit off..... But there's just something about them that I love!!
