Gorgeous late winters day lighting illuminating the front of Chesterton Windmill - sadly the sails are no longer attached - never the less an iconic folly overlooking the Warwickshire countryside makes for a very easy piece of architecture to capture. I do like the black and white conversion - the circular polariser helping to add mood to the sky. This image lends itself nicely a square crop - a bit of dodging and burning to bring out the contrast, particularly the snow which adds to the scene...

Belmont Shores, CA
Heavily retouched (down to individual sand grains in some cases!) to reduce noise and enhance the pattern. Retouching with Touch Retouch by Adva Soft. Recommended.

We had only a short window of time to photograph this magical place! I rushed through the beautiful dunes in Stokksnes with Mount Vestrahorn playing hide and seek.
A big thank you to Metti for the much appreciated help with the black and white processing!

I love all kind of trees as everyone has its own fingerprint. Look at this pine with its odd form that does not fit into the shape of what I've seen todate. It is as if it would have assimilated to the shape of the prevailing apple trees in the area and therefore has grown more horizontally than vertically.

CAIRN: Stones stacked on TOP of another. Used as a marker, monument, or memorial of some kind. Cairns are sometimes used to mark points along hiking trails. Smaller Cairns are also used in recent times as decorations, often balancing one stone on TOP of another, forming a small stack, as in this photo.
