I will post a series of (5) pictures to just give an idea of how it looks ... there's so much to see and enjoy!
Geology and climate are important contributing to the successful establishment of plants within the park. Deep deposits of volcanic ash combined with even rainfall, mild winters and warm summer temperatures are conducive to plant growth for a range of species from around the world. With this variety of plant types Pukekura is unique in offering a diverse range of landscapes from dense remnant tawa/mahoe/pukatea forest to broad lawns with annual bedding displays and themed garden plantings.
My dog is getting ready for the holidays. This is a hard time for me I lost my mom 1 year ago on Xmas Eve and she made Christmas special. Well she made every day special. Silly distractions and the love of this little guy help to get through.
His name is Pipit. Adopted from the BC SPCA found on the streets at 3 months. He is a mutt through and through. Your guess is as good as mine as what he is. Terrier X Shephard? Doesn't matter but he has brought back some joy to my heart and certainly helps in grieving. Oh and he gets along with my cat...
I'll share more of him soon.

Sunset on a lovely July summer day in Northern Ireland. Temperatures hit 23 C which is a heatwave here! There was some nice atmospheric haze which caught some nice colours as the sun went down behind this beautiful lone tree.

Done in the almost pitch dark, by using long exposure, remote switch on camera and torchlight - more precisely waving a torch around and about and up and down until enough seconds seemed ok! (11 secs here). Good fun.

The last before I go away, I promise! I am supposed to be packing but these flowers are so beautiful. Just perfect. Freshly opened, without a blemish, they needed to be photographed.
