Another pretty I found on my tour of our yard during the snow/sleet/icy rain storm. The mountain fire andromeda were beautiful but I hope not damaged by the ice. Press "L" for the best view of the ice drops.

This pair of roe deers was very curious as I stopped with my car by the field where they were grazing. The male had a very characteristic look as he only had one horn left. I really like this photo!

Vor ca. 2 Jahren habe ich mich schon mal an dieser Stelle mit Milchstraße versucht. Zu dem Zeitpunkt war ich total glücklich und stolz auf das Ergebnis.
Was ich aber leider nicht an jenem Abend hatte, war ein ruhiger See und somit hatte ich keine Spiegelung im Bild.
Daher wollte ich es unbedingt nochmal versuchen. Was mich jetzt noch stört, ist die Lichtverschmutzung. Beim nächsten Mal bräuchte ich dann bitte jemanden, der am anderen Ufer einmal das Stromkabel zieht ;-)
Gibt es Freiwillige???

DAY 126 OF THE TOOTH: "OK, so I'm not supposed to tear into this area rug because why?" 6-month-old Tooth Barkington the cairn terrier (aka The Tooth) has teeth and must chew. On pretty much anything. He even gnaws on the stone hearth (real stone, not that faux veneer stuff) in front of the fireplace. Water Hyacinth
Pontederia crassipes, is an aquatic plant native to South America, naturalized throughout the world, and often invasive outside its native range. Wikipedia
The sheltered outbuilding with pillars in Markeaton Park is likely one of the historic outhouses or garden structures that remain from the park’s earlier estate days.
Markeaton Park was once the site of the Mundy family’s mansion, and although the main house was demolished, several ancillary buildings and features were preserved.
As an aside, this was the place where I and my ‘homies’ sheltered during a rainstorm towards the end of school term 1969 (yes, we were playing truant) … the rear wasn’t open to the elements as it is now. So a few happy memories there.

This 11-shot handheld panorama of ducks in the frigid pond at Greenfield near Daleville, Va., shot with a Nikon D850 and a Nikkor 200-500mm lens at about 400mm, was made with the idea that if you can't isolate one duck with a honking-big zoom lens, then try to get them all in with a telephoto pano shot. This morning I took a bike ride around Kohler-Andrae State Park and came across some fellow explorers. I guess everyone was interesting at seeing what was beyond their present horizon today.
BTW-I've been doing more bike riding than walking for the last couple of weeks. I'm working through what may be plantar fasciitis in one of my feet. While my foot is better, biking doesn't put the same stress on the muscle that walking does. I find it cool that biking is OK because I enjoy biking and don't feel housebound. :-)
