I have a few of these bears in various states of completion sitting in my project basket. My plan was to make a few for Christmas presents, and then continue to make clothes for them for future birthdays, etc. But last night I realized that this is a bad plan if I hate they way they look all put together, so I took the time to construct this one. I must say, I like him (her?) quite a bit, so all systems go!
I set up the tripod, turned off the lights, and used an LED flashlight to "paint" the buddha statue. This one, with a concentration of the light a little off-center, made neat gradations of blue.

Pasando el rato :)
Voy a tomarme unos días de descanso (espero que no forzoso, el Lr arrancó hoy después de dos días sin querer abrirse), pero os vigilo :P

Hanging :)
I'm going to take a break (I hope that no forced, Lr opened today after two days of not working :-S), but I'll be watching you :P
Another experiment with my 1965's Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 20mm f/4 lens. I like the not so perfect choppy bokeh this lens produces.
i'm doing nahcotta gallery's enormous tiny art show (where images have to be 10" or less) in september...this is a new twist on my paper collages...blogged
Experiments with symbols. I like the way the head hangs in space. (a bit Fido Dido-ish I admit)

Percentage of participants within one standard deviation of the
global maximum (best solution) on each round of a problem-solving task
for which there were two versions (Mason, Jones, & Goldstone, 2005).
Groups of participants guessed numbers between 0 and 100 using Internetconnected
computers; each of the participants’ computers then showed
them the points earned by their own and others’ guesses, based upon a
hidden scoring function that had either a simple single-peaked (singlepeaked
problem space) or complex triple-peaked (triple-peaked problem
space) form. In the fully connected network, everybody could see each
other’s guesses and outcomes. In the random network, participants only
had access to a set of randomly determined neighbors. In the locally connected
network, participants were informationally connected only to their
close neighbors. The small-world network also preserved local neighborhoods
but additionally had a few distant ‘‘short-cut’’ connections that
bridged different local regions. For the one-peaked problem, the best
group performance was initially found for the fully connected network.
For the triple-peaked problem, the best performance was initially found
for the small-world network.
We decided to replicate the Mythbusters experiment of dropping five metos candies into a 2-litre of diet coke...it was a major success.
Expérimentation macro au 500 à miroir à main levée. Recherche de flou de couleurs et de composition.
It's been very cold here in Pennsylvania... freezing in fact. It's 24 degrees today but when I did this experiment the temp was in the single digits.
I thought I'd see if I could get a crystal pattern to form in the paint. I did quick washes and then set the paper outside to dry. I didn't have much luck - no really nice frozen crystals formed. I thought I read where someone somewhere tried this and had success? Anybody ever try this?
Some experiments with my new Sony Alpha 100.
Lens: Quantaray 70-300, @300mm
ISO-80 (Lo80); F5.6; 1/30s, Multipatern mettering
Thing here is... how to make this pic looks sharper, what do I need to change? Maybe using ISO-200 or maybe 400?
New test / experiments. Trying to solve a few design/functional improvements. Making new versions of 'Fishing For Lines' for The Campaign For Drawing, using 'cast-off'/recycled 'Drawing Tops'
This one has had some heavy editing for sure. Stepping outside of my usual box so to speak. I'm usually not one to heavily modify photos from their original context but sometimes it's fun to just imagine something and go with it. The sun and sky are totally not original to this scene but at the end of the day, I kinda like the result. Early spring 2021. Looking north along the lake shore. Who says the sun doesn't rise, or set in the north! It did this particular day. Or at least in my imagination it did ;-)
Shot my first roll (of three) of Kodak CIR Colour Infrared negative film. Bronica ETRSi with a Deep Yellow filter.
Here is the twin shot of my little experiment comparing the Olympus EM1 to the Nikon D600. This photo was shot with the Nikon D600 and 16-35mm f/4.0 lens mounted on my Induro CT213 tripod with a BHD2 ball-head using a remote trigger (my standard landscape photography setup). It was processed in Lightroom and the white balance was tuned to match its twin taken with the Olympus EM-1. I love the detail and ease of processing the Nikon image but I have to say I am really impressed with photo from the EM-1. I’m looking for a smaller, lighter setup for travel – hence this little experiment. But, I have to say, I am now wondering if I really need two setups (one for travel and one for “regular” photography). Maybe the EM-1 and some decent optics is all I really need. Decisions. Decisions.
Just bought a Hoya R72 Infrared filter and started experimenting. This shot of my 'shady' fern and hosta border taken at f/2.8 to avoid 'hot spot' found with smaller apertures. Red and blue channels swapped in Photoshop to give the sky a slightly more natural appearance.
Connectivity and readymade practice : experimenting, manipulating and combining daily life objects in order to attempt, to force or to mystify a workable connection between them, at least to make it visible and/or possible. This exercise is to be considered as a warm-up, a first step towards a further installation or project.
