Another experiment with textures.... not sure if this one has worked, despite the brilliant texture from Newmexico51
Connectivity and readymade practice : experimenting, manipulating and combining of daily life objects in order to attempt or to force a connection, at least to make it visible and possible for a further installation or project.

I decided to experiment with using my telescope as a lens. The telescope has a diameter of 90mm and a focal length of 1250mm. It is a catadioptric (mirror lens) meaning it is short, light and relatively easy to carry. Like all mirror lenses, it is soft on focus and muted in colours which is a compromise, however it makes for interesting post-edits. I went back to the river (Bulimba side) and photographed a crane over at Newstead.
I was hoping for the orange sunset sky, but it was noticeable absent today.
None of the images has been cropped.
These are cat cakes, designed and built as part of my anti-cat poop experiment.
The recipe is top secret, including coffee grounds, garbanzo bean flour (I can't stand it), and water. Later I added some Critter Ridder crystals, which contains lots of peppery stuff.

Always experiment. You don't need a laboratory in your basement to do so. You only need something to test and the will to experiment.
a spread in my Amber art book that I did in August - was experimenting with white on white layers
here are the layers as I remember them:
1: gesso
2: collage with white papers
3: texture using fiber paste and modeling paste with stencils
4: some white and turquoise gelatos to bring out the texture
5: finishing touches with ivory Faber Castel marker, gold Sharpie and woodgrain word stickers

Crappy weather out and I'm experimenting with some bag supports while I wait for fenders to arrive this coming week. At the moment I've got a seat post mounted bag support installed. It's holding a trunk bag that has sat on a shelf here for a couple of years; I've used both before on another tall bike, but I'm not sure how I feel about the bag sitting so high. I've several silver Blackburn rear racks, and I could install one of them when I add the fenders. This support is also quite a bit heavier than a Blackburn rack.
