Connectivity and readymade practice : experimenting, manipulating and combining of daily life objects in order to attempt or to force a connection, at least to make it visible and possible for a further installation or project.

experimenting with a flashlight... a piece of paper at the bottom of the bottle.. poor subject really, but oh well... that's why it's called experimenting :)
Given that this is the westbound cycle lane, and westbound cyclists will most likely want to reach the far side of Charlotte Square, I'm concerned that we'll get some rather tight radii on the new junction experiment.

Very easy to do. Created text in wordle.net/
white text on black is best to use. then I did a screen grab (mac users: shift/apple/4). Then in photoshop I used the Magic Eraser Tool and subtracted the black, resized the text/image to fit my background and then just cut/paste/overlay text on background image. Yeah! OH, I also lowered the opacity on my text layer...thought it was pretty over the clouds. Text taken from an email.

Heh... Some serious overlapping and multiple exposures on Fuji 400 film(best before 5/2001) taken with my precious Holga!
I got my Holga CFN 120 few weeks ago and decided to experiment a bit for starters, heh... Here's the result from the very first roll of film taken with my lovely Holga.
-Scanned from the negative and done minor color adjustments. Otherwise untouched.
No taping or modifications done to the camera (yet anyway)...
I suspected there would be more lightleaking etc. :D
I think my self portraits are a tad bit boring. I came up with this idea after the sun decided to go down.
(None of my cameras have flashes that work)
This is created by the stacking method using Helicon Focus on seven RAW files and one of my first attempts. The idea of getting more depth of focus by combining photos came from an article in 'Antenna', the Royal Entomological Society's monthly bulletin. I then found Helicon Focus which has a Mac version used here. The DOF is wonderful and the detail on the original quite startling to my eyes. Sorry about the background; I have been experimenting with a neutral block to cut down glare and didn't adjust it quite right.
Experiments on infected creatures in order to find ways to resuscitate them using specially formulated gasses
Part of an experiment in Northridge run by UCLA's engineering department. We were in a building that was red tagged from the 1994 Northridge Earthquake but still hadn't been torn down yet. The engineers wanted to model how buildings behave when shaken, so they put a giant off-balanced motor on the roof that would shake the whole building when run.
Seismometers were placed on every floor and at every corner to measure how the building shook. I wish I took pictures of the building itself. It was in absolutely horrid shape. (We weren't allowed inside the building when the shaking experiment was underway).
It occurred to me to put a bead in the loop when making a Josephine Knot and then closing the knot around the bead. I think it worked, Igor, don't you?
I'll be leaving this on my step tomorrow night....a great night for an experiment. Will this cause anyone angst or will it be a no brainer?
I'm revisiting some of my older photos with additional / different processing and / or cropping. I'd love some comments on whether I've ruined or improved upon the original processing that I did.
