First tentantive steps with my new toy

I've been studying rock and other natural surfaces for a long time. I try to produce a "random" style in my shapes and their surfaces, and this series seems to show that I've accomplished what I'm after. The "beauty" of these pieces is perhaps up to debate, but I think at least I've accomplished an effect that transcends the human touch. There is little evidence here of "my" work or my imposition of form or surface on the natural ingredients.

So, I rolled these tiles out with leaves and fireplace ash. The leaves impregnated the terracotta, which is about 5 mm thick. When they burnt out they left lots of secret places where you can see depth and sometimes leaf imprints (though the imprints were not my aim at all--I was aiming for the strength the leaves impart to thin raw terracotta).

Another fun experiment made by Oriol.

Experimenting with micro 3/4 camera.

I was trying to get a photo under natural light, but needless to say, there wasn't enough of it. I played with this one a little and this is what I came up with. I'm not sure what other people will think of it. Obviously it's dark, but I think it has some redeeming qualities. If you have a thought on this one, please let me know. Good or bad, anything is helpful.

Stands for: Atomic Spectroscopy And Collisions Using Slow Antiprotons.

So i went out to the bar with a little social experiment. Walk in and hand out a few disposable cameras, then collect them when they are empty. Here are the results. I just thought was wondering what i would find on these rolls of film. I think one of the most rewarding thing about it was just watching all these people interacting and be willing to have their pictures taken with random strangers, by random strangers.

Shot on 35mm old of date old film and developed with the black and white film process.

And this is how it finaly looks. Nice, don't you think so?

final settings i used, using strobes bouncing off near & far ceiling, another with a diffusor trying for a soft fill, and another on-camera dialed down 1 stop. from this setup i got minimal shadows and was able to adjust curves to get things looking okay.
