Expecting maternity shoot

As expected, the colours are a bit less realistic with the flash.

Didn't expect this to be a good photo. Ill have to learn to keep an eye out for dark on light or somewhat darker on light. I think I've subconsciously trained myself to look for too much contrast but its not always best.

Expecting spring

Not what you might expect for your average seaside image - perhaps I should have called this 'Welcome to Weston!'............ To be fair, Birnbeck Pier is in such a state of disrepair it's probably not safe for hoards of people to be milling along it - but just two or three flickr'ers.......maybe one day - but not this one!

Knautia got a great shot of this stuff against the sky - I strongly recommend you take a look.

Getting ready for the first barbecue of the year, just waiting for the family to arrive around mid-day so we can get things started.

I need to build a permanent stand for the furniture to sit on, for now a few bricks will suffice.

Expecting a Pine Martin as trunk was scratched

I was asked to shoot [my first] maternity photos. She knew ahead of time what poses she wanted. This was one of my favorites.

I love the loving feel of this shot.

This is what happens when you pay attention, imagine what happens when you don't...

Anticipation is key to street photography. You may never have a concrete idea of what you will capture at a moment's notice, but always anticipate that something will eventually cross your path. At the last second, while observing the performers and onlooking crowd, I noticed the gentleman to the very left slowing sneaking up behind the very surprised girl in the orange shirt. A bit off setting? Sure. But it was quite obvious from how it turned out that it was the young girl's father. Photos can lie. But an explanation of the story behind the image can put things into perspective.

That blooms promptly.

When the petal like wax workmanship opens little by little, like the puppy bringing close the nose, you feel smell.

Be wrapped in the kind fragrance, closing the eye, you probably will breathe deeply.

That's the name of this house/estate on Lake Geneva. This was my favorite of the houses we walked by. As I explained on earlier posts there is a public pathway all around Lake Geneva. It crosses all of these fabulous estates. Most of the pathways we walked across were between okay and downright neglected. A little muddy or with some stones missing, etc. This place was quite the opposite. They had a wonderful walkway with art work, sayings and even a guest book. Clearly they welcomed visitors whereas the other places seemed to grudgingly comply with the public path law. Check out this pathway in the previous post and you'll see what I mean.

Odd, they seem to be expecting a crack-down. Maybe they've realized they're breaking some rules?

Actually while I shot this, on the stage just out of the shot to the right a man was speaking to the crowd saying he was confident that the police won't just come in and arrest them all and tear up the camp.

... Well, unless Susan Anton wins the Mayoral election. She's made it clear in the election debate last night that she doesn't understand the issues and just wants to rip the occupiers out of here by any means necessary.
