Matewan Choo Choo
Though expected to be a night run across the Pokey, 279 made quick time out of Bluefield, barreling towards Williamson with a rather interesting duo of NS 8104 and NS 4001. Though initially routed via the K&O, the 278/279 pair was recently shifted to be a Pokey train in what I assume is another swing at knocking down budgets under PSR. We had been out on the Buchanan Branch and opted last minute to shoot for Matewan and grab a shot of the pair, and that we did in this one and done capture under a cloudy fall afternoon.
