Blimey, never expected such a busy looking little interior. Don't think I have seen so many memorials (pomp) in one small church. I actually loved it! As I tried the door I found it locked, I was about to do my usual grumbles and moans when I spied the little sign telling me to use the other door (Priests Door) This is a must if you are a tourist looking for a lovely little church! Spent quite some time here, the views over the hills is lovely too. I am sure a sheep actually growled at me!!!
Blake Abernathy: yes! but I didn't expect a woman. you sure you're gonna help me?
Lizzy: of course, I enjoy killing them!
Blake: is that so? why would you go against your own gender?
Lizzy: everyone's going to think all women are crazy and stupid like them. I really don't appreciate it
Blake: wow. well uh, my daughter Mary was murdered by those lunatics. just for taking up with a man
Lizzy: bastards! I'll murder every one of them in the same cold blood!

Every now and then a water truck drives by spraying water on the roads to keep down dust-- but there's simply too much dust. Anyway, inhabitants of Black Rock City take the opportunity for a refreshing shower by chasing after the trucks and getting sprayed.
Today I saw 2 things I didn't expect to see on my walk at my usual walking place of Calke Abbey. The first one was this Antonov cargo plane approaching East Midlands airport. I have heard before of these huge planes using EM airport but was still surprised to see this one. I was very surprised on how slow this plane was moving, I had time to change my lens to get this photo. I heard the plane land and it produced a very loud noise which I presume was the engine being put in reverse.
This is the second largest cargo plane in the world.
I would love to get some better photos of it when it takes back off, but I am unable to find this information out on the net.
Hemel Hempstead Field Trip - Back to Gadesprings
Had another much anticipated trip back to Gadesprings, and was joined by Roger on a very mild night with increasing cloud cover, the clouds did look threatening and we were expecting rain soon after setting up, but as forecast the rain held off. We were hoping for some Wainscots, and we did get a few, well they were all Common Wainscots apart from one Bulrush Wainscot.
Unfortunately the Garden Darts that I suspected that we had caught, all turned out to be just a variation of Square-spot Rustic, all looking slightly odd with extreme over-lapping of forewings.
Best micro was Ypsolopha alpella a scarce moth in the southern part of Hertfordshire, it is a moth that I recorded on my parents farm for the first time in 2011.
We were surprised with the good count of species for this time of year, 2 good conditioned Heart & Darts was a surprise and being dive-bombed by lots of Old Ladies was fun!
All in all a good trip and well worth the effort of setting up 4 traps.

Wasn't expecting this much ! I've been ordered to obscure the number plate on the badger-mobile which makes it look stupid I know. I'm gonna be running around like a blue-arsed fly trying to capture all the creatures I possibly can in the snow ! I'm even gonna miss the Forest Vs Derby game..................RIP Nigel Doughty.
