Bristol Harbour is the harbour in the city of Bristol, England. The harbour covers an area of 70 acres (28.3 ha). It has existed since the 13th century but was developed into its current form in the early 19th century by installing lock gates on a tidal stretch of the River Avon in the centre of the city and providing a tidal by-pass for the river. It is often called the Floating Harbour as the water level remains constant and it is not affected by the state of the tide on the river.

Hércules la buscó y finalmente encontró los restos del naufragio de la Barca Nona (la novena embarcación) al lado del actual Montjuic. Los tripulantes habían encontrado tan acogedor el paraje que, ayudados por Hermes (dios del comercio y las artes) decidieron fundar una ciudad a la que dieron el nombre de Barcanona.

Il existe deux types d’huitres élevées à Cancale : l’huître plate et l’huître creuse.
•L’huître plate (Ostrea Edulis), ou « Pied de cheval », est l’espèce la plus réputée car elle est endémique à la Bretagne et à Cancale en particulier. C’est celle qui est louée par François 1er et qui a fait la réputation de la ville. La Belon de Cancale tire son nom de la rivière du Finistère dont elle provient mais s’applique à toutes les huitres de Bretagne. Malheureusement, l’huitre plate a été surexploitée au fil des siècles et fut sujette à des épidémies fatales.
Il existe deux sortes de poissons dans ce lac :
- les poissons noirs, espèces autochtones qui ne quittent jamais le lac : silures, perches, poissons à tête de serpent…
- les poissons blancs, espèces migratoires qui viennent du Mékong où ils se reproduisent

A short NYS&W local heads west through Elmwood Park, NJ approaching the River Drive crossing. Every boxcar in tow represents a railroad that no longer exists. The train is arranged with a Delaware & Hudson unit on each end. Leading is GP38-2 223 and trailing is GP39-2 7418. Both units still wore Guilford gray and orange paint. 223 was renumbered to fit into Guilford's numbering system while the GP39-2 was not. 223 would eventually be repainted into the classic D&H lightning stripe scheme and be renumbered D&H 7303. The presence of D&H units on the Susquehanna was not unusual as at the time NYS&W was designated operator of the bankrupt D&H.

Su ubicación a orillas del mar y su curiosa forma cónica casi perfecta han conseguido que el Kirkjufell, “la montaña de la iglesia”, se haya convertido en el paisaje más fotografiado de Islandia.

Królewiec Hall in the Grand Master's Palace in the Malbork castle.
The two longitudal interiors, each lit by one window, existed here already in the medieval times. There were mentioned in the Teutonic ledgers as the master's chamberand small chamber. The restoration work was co-financed by the authorities of the city of Królewiec, which is why the hall was named this way. The recent research proved that the interiors were decorated with a painted plant twig. A fragment of this old decoration has been maintained on the southern wall of the room. In the first half of the 19th century during the romantic restoration of the Castle, both interiors were reconstructed (following the example of the neighbouring refectories) into one square hall with a vault resting on one central pillar. The current furnishings of the hall are neo-Gothic furniture and graphic portraits of people associated with the work in the castle at that time.
The Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork, the largest Gothic castle complex in the world, is a 13th-century Teutonic castle and fortress located near the town of Malbork on the river Nogat in Poland. It was originally constructed by the Teutonic Knights, a German Catholic religious order of crusaders, in a form of an Ordensburg fortress. The Order named it Marienburg in honour of Mary, mother of Jesus. In 1457, during the Thirteen Years’ War, it was sold by the Bohemian mercenaries to King Casimir IV of Poland in lieu of indemnities and it since served as one of the several Polish royal residences and the seat of Polish offices and institutions, interrupted by several years of Swedish occupation, and fulfilling this function until the First Partition of Poland in 1772. From then on the castle was under German rule for over 170 years until 1945. The castle is a classic example of a medieval fortress and, on its completion in 1406, was the world's largest brick castle. UNESCO designated the "Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork" and the Malbork Castle Museum a World Heritage Site in December 1997.

Sala Królewiecka w Pałacu Wielkich Mistrzów na zamku w Malborku.
W średniowieczu istniały w tym miejscu dwa podłużne pomieszczenia, oświetlone każde jednym oknem – wymieniane w krzyżackich księgach rachunkowych: izba i izdebka mistrza. Prace restauratorskie dofinansowały władze miasta Królewca, stąd nazwa sali. Ostatnie badania wykazały, że wnętrza były dekorowane malowaną wicią roślinną – fragment tej dawnej dekoracji zachowano w odkrywce na południowej ścianie sali. W pierwszej połowie XIX wieku, w trakcie restauracji zamku zwanej dziś romantyczną, istniejące tu wnętrza zostały przebudowane (podobnie do sąsiednich refektarzy) na jedno kwadratowe wnętrze o sklepieniu wspartym na centralnym filarze. Obecne wyposażenie tworzy garnitur mebli neogotyckich i graficzne portrety osób związanych z ówczesnymi pracami na zamku.

Od 1961 zamek jest siedzibą Muzeum Zamkowego w Malborku.

Vivian es una joven bruja Gryffindor nacida en Dublín, Irlanda y de familia adinerada. Prima pequeña de Malia Hu e hija de un padre mago y una madre muggle.
Desde niña Vivian fue criada por unos padres muy ausentes y que se separaron a sus 7 años.
Asistió al mejor colegio privado de Dublín y disfrutó de toda clase de lujos y caprichos, pero siempre marcada por las expectativas de su dura y exigente madre, Brigid Sverrison. A penas tuvo vida social durante su infancia con el resto de niños y ocupaba todo su tiempo en mejorar sus notas académicas. La joven Fairchild descubrió que el misterioso trabajo de su padre, Thomas Fairchild, era un empleo en un Ministerio de Magia que desconocía que también existiera. Trabajaba en el Departamento de Accidentes y Catástrofes Mágicas ¿Cómo decirlo? Su padre era para Vivian como un policía que resolvía los accidentes relacionados con el mundo mágico ¡Un alucine!
Todavía creía estar soñando, estaba tan fascinada en su primer año que tan solo deseaba aprender todo lo relacionado con ese mundo desconocido para ella hasta el año pasado.
Por ese motivo, en su segundo día de clase era de las primeras en acudir a las aulas para admirarlas, al igual que los pasillos repletos de cuadros parlantes ¡Hogwarts era todo un alucine!

This was taken part way down the route to Glymur the highest waterfall in Iceland. There are a number of routes up, none of which are particularly easy and some not for the feint of heart.
In October 2013 we hiked up the opposite bank, you have to cross the river on a log bridge (really), climb with rope assistance and then wander along the edge opposite. We did it in snow and ice which is why we were hiking up this side on this trip!
This side wasn't much better, very muddy and slippery and in places too close to the edge. On the advice from an Icelandic guide coming down, who advised us not to go too much further, we turned around. It was worth it for this view alone though.
If there is a next time it will be the very long but safe route :-)

Drôle de titre, en clin d'oeil avec le fameux 36, quai des Orfèvres, lieu mythique de nombreux polars.
Pourtant point de sous-texte policier dans cette image : plutôt que "d'afficher" une personne rentrant chez elle ou visitant une personne isolée de son entourage, ce lieu étant très spécifique sur le plan de l'architecture de ses bâtiments, le numéro de porte a été changé par un numéro qui, visiblement (en tout cas je l'espère) n'existe pas.
L'anonymisation, c'est aussi ça.

Two sizes of Canadian Geese exist. A small 22 to 26 inch and a large 35-45 inch version. They have a brownish body with a black head, long blackneck and which cheeck patch. The smaller version has a shorter neck and lacks the cheeck patch.
They inhabit lakes, bays, rivers and marshes. They often feed in open grasslands and stubble fields.
They range from Alaska each to Baffin Island and south to California, Illinoise and Massachusetts. They winter south to northern Mexico and the Gulf Coast. Widespread as a semi-domesticated bird in city parks and on reservoirs.

I got out of the car and talked to him. Not crazy, just a good sense of humor. I asked if I could take his photo (it didn't turn out) and he asked me if I thought he was handsome. Piercing blue eyes, unforunately you don't see them here. This was taken about a year ago with my cell. If I remember correctly, he's one of our veterans.
