The Marian Sanctuary in Gietrzwałd has existed since the 16th century. However, from June to September 1877, on the maple growing next to the church, the only revelations of Our Lady documented in Poland took place.
In connection with the increasing pilgrimage movement, in the years 1878-1884, the existing church was expanded. He obtained the shape that he exists today. The temple was expanded in the style of the North German Brick Gothic. The presbytery was enlarged three times and a transept with galleries was added, and the church gained the form of a Latin cross. The gable roof was covered with ceramic tiles, and a brick three-story tower was built on a square plan, covered with a high, pyramidal cupola.
The cult of the Mother of God was born in Gietrzwałd very early and was associated with the image of the Holy Mother of Gietrzwałd, which has been in the main altar of the church since at least 1505. In 1717, the painting was decorated with silver crowns and the dress of Madonna and Baby Jesus. The act of visitation shows that the cult had a local character until the mid-nineteenth century. After the apparitions in 1877, this cult gained a national character.

Uzyskał on kształt, którym istnieje dzisiaj. Świątynia została rozbudowana w stylu północnoniemieckiego gotyku ceglanego. Powiększono trzykrotnie prezbiterium i dobudowano transept z emporami, a kościół zyskał formę krzyża łacińskiego.

The Kraków Cloth Hall (Polish: Sukiennice, pronounced [sukʲɛˈɲːit͡sɛ]), in Lesser Poland, dates to the Renaissance and is one of the city's most recognizable icons. It is the central feature of the main market square in the Kraków Old Town (the historic center of Kraków), which since 1978 has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
t was once a major centre of international trade. Travelling merchants met there to discuss business and to barter. During its golden age in the 15th century, the hall was the source of a variety of exotic imports from the east – spices, silk, leather and wax – while Kraków itself exported textiles, lead, and salt from the Wieliczka Salt Mine.
In the immediate vicinity of the hall, the Great Weigh House and the Small Weigh House existed until the 19th century. Other, similar cloth halls have existed in other Polish as well as other European cities such as in Ypres, Belgium; Braunschweig, and in Leeds, EnglandKraków was Poland's capital city and was among the largest cities in Europe already from before the time of the Renaissance. However, its decline started with the move of the capital to Warsaw at the end of the 16th century. The city's decline was hastened by wars and politics leading to the Partitions of Poland at the end of the 18th century. By the time of the architectural restoration proposed for the cloth hall in 1870 under Austrian rule, much of the historic city center was decrepit. A change in political and economic fortunes for the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria ushered in a revival due to newly established Legislative Assembly or Sejm of the Land. The successful renovation of the Cloth Hall, based on a design by Tomasz Pryliński and supervised by Mayor Mikołaj Zyblikiewicz, Sejm Marshal, was one of the most notable achievements of this period.[1]
The hall has hosted many distinguished guests over the centuries and is still used to entertain monarchs and dignitaries, such as King Charles III, then Prince of Wales, and Emperor Akihito of Japan, who was welcomed here in 2002. In the past, balls were held here, most notably after Prince Józef Poniatowski had briefly liberated the city from the Austrians in 1809. Aside from its history and cultural value, the hall is still used as a center of commerce.

I came here to Bruges to visit a relic of the holy blood of Jesus Christ. I learned that it existed a few months prior to coming. This is the upper chapel in the basilica of the holy blood. Cameras aren’t allowed but I managed a few stealth shots.

I forgot that you existed
It isn't love, it isn't hate
It's just indifference
I forgot that you
Sent me a clear message
Taught me some hard lessons
I just forget what they were
It's all just a blur
I forgot that you existed
And I thought that it would kill me, but it didn't
And it was so nice
So peaceful and quiet
I took this photograph a couple of years ago, mainly out of boredom. I was standing at the exact spot where I took it, waiting for a friend who was late. The image itself was insignificant. Other views that are more representative of Sitges, a seaside town close to Barcelona, are also available. It's well-known for its beauty and lively atmosphere. It's also where I used to spend my summers during my childhood and early youth.
I thought it wasn't worth sharing, so I decided to delete it. Then I had an idea: I'd try to reinvent the old postcards people bought when I was a kid. They were, somehow, similar to this shot: loud, overexposed, and of poor quality.
With the arrival of foreign tourists, greetings from... began to appear. Previously, it would have been "Recuerdos desde...", always in Spanish because Catalan was publicly forbidden and restricted to family settings.
They used to bear a stamp of some kind, such as a flag or a town shield.
Those who know the place will immediately realize it's a modern image. Apart from the way people are dressed, you can see buildings that didn't exist at that time.
I suppose those who have never seen anything like this, or who are not reading this explanation, won't like the photograph. Anyway, I had a great time editing it.

Who knows?
Maybe I'll come to your place tonight.

The Gouldian finch (Erythrura gouldiae), also known as the Lady Gouldian finch, Gould's finch or the rainbow finch, is a colourful passerine bird which is native to Australia. Both sexes are brightly coloured with black, green, yellow, and red markings. The females tend to be less brightly coloured. One major difference between the sexes is that the male's chest is purple, while the female's is a lighter mauve. Gouldian finches are about 125–140 mm long. Gouldian finches' heads may be red, black, or yellow. Formerly considered three different kinds of finches, it is now known that these are colour variants that exist in the wild. Selective breeding has also developed mutations (blue, yellow and silver instead of a green back) in both body and breast colour. The number of Gouldian finches has decreased quite dramatically during the 20th century. Their habitat has been reduced or altered. 15304

When I was on Wednesday looking for Pistaches's medicine (reserved 10 days ago), I had to take generics instead. Well luckily they exist, her usual medicine is out of stock. And do you know why? Because of BREXIT (which has not taken place yet, that's very promising !), the medicine being from the UK.

no enfrentarse,
no agotarse en la lucha,
abrazar lo que venga
con las branquias abiertas,
con el filtro instintivo del corazón.
Estar preparado para la gran ola,
la que se lleva todo por delante
para la caricia de la ola chiquita;
No quiero que este chapuzón me sepa a poco;
he de explorar negras profundidades

While Back Bay station is mostly subterranean, the east end of the platform area does open up slightly, allowing for a view of the adjacent "skyline". This is the reason Acela exists...fast intercity service direct to downtown locations.

The last time I visited St Justinians in Pembrokeshire, Wales there was only one life boat station, which had existed since 1869. It closed in 2016 and during its active life the crews saved more than 360 lives at sea from 420 launches. It has been a listed building since 1992 which means it cannot be demolished or substantially altered without prior approval from the local authority.
Construction of the new station alongside began in 2014. It opened in 2016 and provided all the most modern equipment necessary to carry out rescue operations at sea.
Like several other essential rescue organizations in Great Britain, the RNLI is not funded by the Government and most of their revenue comes from charitable donations. The most important aspect of its operation are the staff who crew the lifeboats. Virtually all of them are volunteers who give up their time to go to the help of people in distress at sea. They can be called out when required 24 hours a day 365 days a year no matter what the weather. The bravery and commitment of the crews is undisputed. Selfless men and women all of them and as a society we are lucky to have them!

Two sizes of Canadian Geese exist. A small 22 to 26 inch and a large 35-45 inch version. They have a brownish body with a black head, long blackneck and which cheeck patch. The smaller version has a shorter neck and lacks the cheeck patch.
They inhabit lakes, bays, rivers and marshes. They often feed in open grasslands and stubble fields.
They range from Alaska east to Canada's Baffin Island and south to California in the west and Illinois and Massachusettes in the east. In winter they range from northern Mexico and the Gulf Coast. They are widespsread as a semi-domesticated bird and can be found in city parks and on reservoirs.

Few African tribes exist today. What a shame in so many ways. Seeing the Maasia in the Northern part of Tanzania and the southern part of Kenya, was joy at first sight for me. The men's bright red flowing robes, shukas, are stunning to say the least. The red, they say, is to ward of lions.
They seem to always be on the move as they were originally semi nomadic people. To drive through the huge vistas that make up northern Tanzania and to suddenly see the brightly colored figures herding their cattle up and down the hills, is to see Africa at its best.
I included a visit to one of their villages on my last trip to Tanzania and even though I knew they put on a tourist show for me, I was thrilled when they showed me who the strongest hunter was. It was the man who could jump the highest.

Sometimes this place exists in a dream state. The rolling hills, nearly prairies; the sheer cliffs, the jagged rocks, the lakes from out of nowhere. The land seems to move with and against you. Swales give way to boulder fields. The web of trails, some made by us, some by animals, are a maze even if you know the way.
There are two canyons: Potholes Coulee and Dusty Lake Coulee. But within them are passages, spines, various levels and dead ends, where you are met with a wall or a cliff.
There are hidden streams and a varying number of waterfalls, depending upon the season. In the spring there are wildflowers. In the autumn, the dried remnants of these flowers provide a different color.
And always there is sage, with its captivating and drawing aroma always close at hand.
This is a place that seems so small on a map, even a minutely detailed topographical map. But you could walk dozens of miles within the confines of these coulees and never tread the same step twice.
