Happy Halloween, everyone (a day late)! In honor of the holiday and the premiere of the Ash VS Evil Dead tv show (which I can't wait to watch), I present my Lego version of Ash fighting a Deadite. Enjoy!
Do not read from the book!!!
Seriously though I hate this particular toy, the head sculpt looks nothing like Bruce Campbell, however the book looks decent so I decided to work with what I have!
On camera left I had a bare bulb with a red gel, the other side I skimmed the book with a single light, letting just a sliver to show that there is something or someone holding the book..
From my "Evil Dead" series...

I got soaked for this shot but it was totally worth it.
I also recorded a short video while I waited for the storm front to get closer, you can hear the thunder coming. -> youtu.be/nspS6-sZPbs
"A cult classic is one that has been fully embraced by an alternative audience, not the popular audience." ~ Bruce Campbell

The belts on the torso are made with electrical tape
The chainsaw was very difficult
The base is a dark red hand with some part cut off and a part of a lego red cup with some details painted on the other side is made with green stuff and the bar is made with a grey plate lego piece (i don't know the name of the piece 😂)
Let me know what you think in the comments
This was painted by me
Sideshow Collectables Evil Dead 2 Ash Williams custom. I had this Ash figure custom painted by Comic Creep Customs for a more screen accurate look, and I am very pleased with the result. Its an awesome piece and much better in hand.
Probably one of my favorite moments in the movie.
After discovering that NECA made some figures from Evil Dead 2 last year, I promptly tracked them down and decided to make a diorama to shoot them in. Stay tuned for more pics.

Evil Dead Week begins at ye olde Geek Creek photostream!
I've shared a few photos of NECA's Ultimate Ash from Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn in recent weeks, but this week will be consumed with portraits of the two new Ash figures, based on his appearance in the Starz series, Ash vs Evil Dead. (I've finally started watching said series. It's delightful).
Both Ash figures feature two interchangeable heads and a new style of (fantastic!) elbow articulation.
They are absolute masterpieces... which is what I've come to expect from NECA.
This photo was captured in our local Wal-Mart.
Left to right- Ash, Master Chief, Walter, my sigfig, Dr. Horrible, Wall-e and Eve. Pretty much all of my custom figs that were on my worktable at the time.
On the set of my current Brickfilm project.
Spun Sugar on her way to see Evil Dead: The Musical! in Yokohama. She is meeting up with Kylie and accidentally slept in after a few too many edibles the day before during a shoot. She grabs her GBF's sweater and a fun skirt and is out the door!
* Cabin in the woods in Southern Illinois under the moon at night.
note: Recently, I drove 7 hours deep into the woods (Shawnee National Forest) in Southern IL to spend a few nights in a remote cabin that was built in 1872. If any of you are Evil Dead fans, as I am, this cabin seems to be strikingly similar to "The Cabin" from those movies / Ash Vs Evil Dead. Maybe it was just me, but on a moonlight night surrounded by nothing for miles - there seemed no better time to have an Evil Dead marathon and binge watch AVED while sitting quaintly in "The Cabin's" lost brother.
The journey through the tunnels is physically taxing and often frightening. But Tunnel Rat's navigation is sure, and soon...
Tunnel Rat: Gentlemen, that's the exit up ahead.
General Flagg: Sweet mercy... sunlight. How long has it been?
Wild Bill: Over six months in the cavern, General, sir!
General Flagg: What's the sitrep out there Tunnel Rat?
Tunnel Rat: No alien activity in the last two weeks, and that was just a flyover. No ground troops have been spotted.
General Flagg: Just the same, everyone lock and load. I don't want to finally get out of that crud crawlin cavern just to get sent to the sweet hereafter by them outer space river rats. Let's get to the external controls and blow the top so our boys can get out of there.
All: YO JOE!!!

"Klaatu Verata Nectu"
...Ash should have said as he took the Necronomicon off the altar.
Since he didn't listen carefully and therefor forgot the last word of spell, he brought the terrible Army of Darkness back to life.
This is my entry for the seventh round of RogueOlympics, this time themed "Birthday" - again built only with 101 pieces.
