Warm, evening light falls over Superstition Mountain. Does anybody know of a good way to fix the effects of the polarizer in the sky?

On a March evening two of York's EE Type 1s (later Class 20s) - D8302 and D8308 - are signalled to cross the lines onto the flyover to the west side of the yard at Healey Mills. An earlier shot of the two 20s taken looking the other way is already on Flickr (see my Healey Mills album)

I was lucky enough to see how wonderful the evenings can be in the "skärgård" outside of Stockholm.

There was like a certern swirl in the clouds around the sun tonight... I just couldnt pass up taking pics of the sky.....
Walking home from today's permitted solo exercise walk and what a lovely sight - a pair of swans enjoying the evening light. A chap had just been feeding them as I passed, and they were still hoovering up some of the bits and pieces in the water (with no boat traffic the canal water is now clear enough to see the bottom, I could even see the swan's long neck and head when they ducked underwater to forage for more bits of food. So wonderful to have this magical piece of nature right in the middle of the city, totally unconcerned with all our problems, carrying on as usual.

Last week while enjoying all the flora and fauna in my local wetland this Great Egret flew in, landing near me. She began to preen her feathers very gracefully. I watched her and decided to adjust my camera settings to see if I could capture her in very soft light. I took several images but this one with the light on her beak and eye is my choice.

Unfortunately my luck with the sun ran out with the Illinois Zephyr; a long thin cloud began trolling over the sun just before train time and lowered the light level. Actually it came out pretty good, but imagine what it would be like under full sun!
