Pleasant surprise finding about 20 evening grosbeaks in my backyard feeders this morning. First ones of the season.

in the evening, celebrate the song of silence and love of night.”

A random picture. I took a walk around my place of residence on this evening and had only the cell phone with me. There was a moment that showed such a wonderful mood. The picture only slightly edited, as I remembered it.
Coming back home last evening, after watching a great sunset over the Albufera, I played a bit with lights and angles, this came out and I like it quite :)
Another landscape, all flat: Flanders, "Le plat pays", as Jacques Brel sang.
This is the nature reserve of the "Gemene Weidebeek" near Bruges, Flanders. The evening sun highlights the trees with the dark sky as a backdrop.
I don't consider myself a landscape photographer. I guess I'm kind of a lazy photographer and I try to capture the things around me more then I go look for them. I live in a gorgeous state. I need to take advantage of it more often. Thanks for everyone's continued support.
Taken at Standly Lake, Colorado.

I did a pair composite of this species a few years back but I wanted to improve on that with a more natural looking final image. I knew with the irruption of this species this winter at that location I would have an opportunity to get some images I could work with to that end. I am happy with this one just wish there was some falling snow.
Earlier this evening I started a quick hiking tour from home along River Werre in my hometown Löhne. Perfect weather, great sunset, wonderful experience. Ostwestfalen, Germany

On my evening walk yesterday, it was the light that attracted me the most. I did not go far this evening, because I stayed down here by the harbor to enjoy the blue color with a hint of pink in the sky. I struggle to get clear evening pictures, without noise and blur ... but still I hope that this image gives you a sense of how it was...
I'm excited about how many poppies there are this year....are there more than usual? Found a field full of them 5 minutes walk from home...after a manic week I finally managed to get out with the camera half an hour before sunset on Friday....the perfect end to my week (plus the glass or two of wine afterwards!).
This was the second shot taken when she returned after a quick hunt in the nearby field.
On this occasion she was happy to pose for quite some time. As I was now further away from the fence I was able to capture her in her entirety.
