So, I had surgery on my arm Monday, and I've had the incredible luck of practically no pain whatsoever, but I'm still hesitant to pull down my ginormous dye stash. So, instead, I played with etching. My first two The Works eggs, the star was done within 24 hours of surgery. Not bad for a gimp!

This is a simple line etch referencing a sketch I made from a live model in my figure drawing class. I have printed her in several colors and also on top of an etching of leaves. The print is approximately 18x24 inches.
I have sold several of these for $45 and still have a few left.

Most ink on the magazine won't come off with the iron. An exception seems to be some red ink, so watch out for red sections on the economist inside-paper (I used the ads in the back).

success! I ran out of time to solder it up but it came out as good as I can hope for. No noticeable 'erosion' of traces. Alignment between the two sides is good enough. This could be close to my final layout. I'm excited!
