A series of photos showing the word "escape" in 3d set in scenes of escapism. The 3d letters where produced from four layers of plywood cut using a laser cutter which were then laminated together and varnished to give a smooth modern look. This was part of a visual communication project.

Done on October 19. We had fun while doing the shoot. Sadly though that it's just the two of us, so it's really hard to do things on our own. Especially carrying our 4 bulging bags along with us while doing the shoot, and constantly watching for security guards who, most of them, want to shoo us away. :D
Escaping back to 'dry' land, after visiting the marsh island in Washington arboretum, where I almost lost one my shoes to the mud.

I'll be the rain
falling on your fire escape....
This week we get to choose our own songs, and I've thinking about this song a lot lately...
Fire Escape by Fastball. It had just come out at the same time I met my husband, and it was the first song that we learned together. (I learned all his songs when I met him, this one was the first that we both learned from scratch!) There are a lot of memories in it for me.
I was going through images I took going through Brooklyn, NY and thought this shot of a fire escape would be a good match : ) We are also doing an urban theme in another group, and I feel bad that I can't use any of my travel images in it...we have to use pictures taken during the week of the theme...but it is inspiring me to post a few of my NYC images anyway!

Fire Escape by Fastball
Here's some shots we did for Derby County Football Club and escape Deign and Print for the stadium shop windows giant size.
DCFC gave us 2 images of the football players (not shot by mackney photography) and asked us and escape to come up with a stylish idea to make the shots more interesting and eye catching for the shop windows.
Mackney and escape went down to the stadium at 11.30pm one night in the week to capture the background stadium at night them photographed the rain and the sky the night after, we combined all the images together.
Hopefully next time we can have some time photographing the players flying through the air.
During a recent trip to Devon I went to Topsham, to take some photos are the quay. I came to the conclusion that this biker had come to down to the river to relax, take a load off and take in the beautiful scenery. It was quite a contrast to see something associated with a fast paced lifestyle so close to such a calm scene in a quaint village.

Being trapped in your home by illness can feel suffocating, claustrophobic...in times past one of my escapes has been to just go for a drive, usually with the radio set to max volume to clear the cobwebs out. But there have been times when Lyme took away the muscle tone required to keep steady pressure on the gas pedal or clutch. Even times I've had to pull off the highway and call someone to come get me.
That's very humbling.
I grew up traveling almost constantly. First to Cyprus and Turkey, back home to West Virginia, a stint in South Carolina, then several years in Brazil, a year in Indiana, back to South Carolina for college, a glorious summer in upstate New York, and then married into a Kansas family, where I've been pretty much ever since.
Being homebound has been a really different and mostly unwelcome experience. But I am thankful for social media and places like flickr where I can travel the world from my bed.
Last time I saw 6402 on the 34, I waited for it to arrive back in Guildford, having seen it (and missed a photo) go towards Camberley earlier on. But when it got there, it had already changed the blinds to "35", having passed the last stop and due to coming in late. That spoilt it a bit, not least as it was swapped off and never actually did the 35.
This time, I made sure I got a shot with "34" up!

First time doing the straitjacket escape challenge, hanging upside down by a burning rope 13 stories high, over the cement ground.

Escape to Arrowhead Provincial Park in Ontario -- took this shot of a friend's SUV. This was another camping weekend, and the D90 was only 2 weeks old so I was just shooting anything and everything hoping to get some decent shots. This one turned out alright I think..
