I must have walked past this grave a hundred times and not clocked it in St John's.
Water Spradbery was an artist and poster designer.
Designed quite a lot of posters for the London Underground.

The minute I set eyes on Ernest I knew I wanted to photograph him. This was one cool guy! Originally from Zimbabwe but now considers Nottingham his second home.
I loved his style (I mean look at the hat - how cool) and he had this really friendly face. I think he thought I was joking when I asked if I could take his picture....he laughed and looked like he was about to leave, however I told him it would only take a second (okay so that was a lie as we chatted for a good while) and that it was free (truth) and would be a great portrait!
He let me take a few shots, however I looked at them and wasn't massively happy with them so asked for some more, right when his mobile went off and he took a phone call!!! I hung around till he finished and we shot some more - this begin the one I liked immediately.
Ernest was really interested in when his picture would go online, sorry it took me longer than planned to upload it but I hope you like it.
Just as we said goodbye I noticed his super cool shoes - I mentioned them and he walked off laughing before I managed any more shots..what a guy!

Austrian actor Ernst Tautenhayn (1874–1944) appeared in silent films of the late 1910s and early 1920s.
Ernest Bevin, one of the Woolwich Free Ferry ships is crossing the Thames to North Woolwich. The docks although run down are still in operation. A ship can be seen behind the block on the left.

2102 Grape Street, Abilene, Texas: :Architectural Description:
This is a 1 front/2-story, 3-bay domestic building in the Craftsman style built in 1915. The structural system is frame. The foundation is undetermined. Exterior walls are original stucco. The building has a multi-plane front gable roof clad in replacement asphalt shingles with open cornice , exposed rafters and brackets. There is one side right, exterior, stuccoed chimney. Windows are original wood, 6/1 double-hung sashes. There is a two-bay open porch characterized by a gabled roof clad in asphalt shingles with battered wood posts on square stone piers.
Ernest arrived at the shelter I was volunteering at when she and her litter mates were only 10 days old. Such young kittens were typically killed by so-called 'shelters' back in 2001, and continue to be killed today. That shelter had just drawn the line in the sand, however--less than 2 months before tiny, baby Ernest and the rest of her family crossed the threshold, The Tompkins County SPCA had become the first No Kill, open-admission animal control shelter in the entire United States. Since then, many more have followed suit, but there are still so many that have not.
