“Project Purple is a social movement and is open to everyone – online and offline. We are rallying Pinoys to be Purple and utilize the internet to aim higher,” said Jojo Anonuevo, general manager, Yahoo! Philippines. “The internet and Yahoo! have become essential services to people and a great equalizer for people to expand their horizons,” Anonuevo added.
“The social movement started in the United States with the ‘Start Wearing Purple’ campaign. We are happy to bring this to the Philippines—the very first country outside the US where there are millions of creative, innovative and passionate Pinoys. Today, Yahoo! is excited to connect the country together in this campaign and we expect many more to join us in the coming weeks”, said Anonuevo.

Funny story. I'v been looking or a board for a couple of weeks now, but not finding one I was happy with.
At the same time I decided to thin the bike herd from the living room, and posted my Mountain Cycle - San Andreas. So up went the pick to craigs list.
About this same time I fine a 7'4" JC, just down the road. I email back and forth with the owner, making sure the board is available and such. Then I get a hit on the San Andreas. From guess who. Craigslist obscures your identity, so he had no idea he was sending a message to me. The one who wanted his board.
Worked out perfectly in the end;
He got a bike he's wanted for years (its an older San Andreas)
I got a board that should be perfect for the summer
And it was an even trade, i.e...
He didn't have to turn over the $$$ to his wife
I didn't need to beg my wife for the $$$
Perfect ending....
Now, lets all hope for a nice summer depression in the Pacific.

“Social media is the ultimate equalizer. It gives a voice and a platform to anyone willing to engage.” – Amy Jo Martin ~ American author, speaker, entrepreneur, and founder of Digital Royalty
We do not create so that we can hold it in, we create so that it can be shared. Our goal should be to reach as many people as possible with the content that we generate in order to help inspire. We should want it to be consumed in a way that others enjoy what we have conceived so much so that they want to share it with those around them. The pride that we take in our work and in our finished product will be undeniable by how far and wide we attempt to spread it.
Creating content is just like designing a product. We may forge the best product in the world but its inherent value is diminished if we don’t tell people about it. The same holds true for the way that we market our product through the creation of engaging content. This starts with sharing our content across all the platforms that we now have access to. But it needs to go beyond just what we create and how we share that creation, to who we share it with.
We need to be driven to create not only a great product, but a great message attached to it through the content we produce. How wide our content will be shared will depend upon how we embrace those early adopters of what we constructed.
In today’s age of continuous digital connectivity, those who do the most for us on a day-to-day basis are those who daily “like” our content. Like is the new love. These individuals are doing the most for us because they are spreading the good word about who we are and what we create. They are essentially our storytellers; they are our messengers. It is these people who will likely be our first customers because they have provided us data that they enjoy what we stand for.
Imagine what this would look like before social media. These early adopters would be those who saw our work and couldn’t help but tell their friends about it at work, at a coffee shop, or at home. We need to appreciate these individuals because they allow us to grow organically and we need to repay the good they are doing for us.
This means that we need to engage with those who most recently engaged with us. The most recent followers, the most recent people who have liked our content, are those we should start with in the engagement process. They conveyed that they like us, so we need to like them as well. We need to use the data that we are provided via their profiles, the friends that they have, and the content that they have created to ensure that we help them in return. This means that we should fabricate a mutually-beneficial relationship by helping to share their content, and by doing so, we share their story.
Our early adopters are giving us their time each day by liking and sharing our content. The best way to increase the time they spend helping us is by helping them first. We need to reach out and help spread their story before they do the same for us. As human beings, there is an intangible indebtedness that we feel to those who have supported us. We need to tap into this ethnological desire to help those who first helped us.
It all comes down to what we do for others without asking for anything in return. We are far less willing to aid others when we know they are helping us just for their own benefit. You can’t fake being genuine, it is evident in everything that we do. Which means that we have to truly care about supporting others by shaping everything we do around our mission statement.
The product we create and the content that we conceive should only further our bigger purpose for being in business. The work that we do should only further our ability to help make our communities healthier, and the only way to do that is to appreciate the individuals who make up that community. Helping others is the most beneficial thing that we can do for ourselves because it makes those we help want to be a part of our team, it makes them want to be our storytellers.
We are all content creators, what it comes down to is how we create that content and how we share it for the world to see.
