These are quilt blocks specifically made for John Adams (aka "Quilt Dad"). It is from a great pattern by Jennifer Ofenstein (sewhooked.com), and was my first attempt at paper piecing.
Governor Markell participated in a press conference regarding marriage equality.
The Governor and Lieutenant Governor Denn were joined by State Representative Melanie George Smith, Senate President Pro Tempore Patricia Blevins, House Speaker Pete Schwartzkopf, Attorney General Biden, members of the General Assembly and community members to announce the filing of marriage equality legislation.
They've deliberately phrased it so vaguely that no one could possibly object, but on the weekend of SF Gay Pride, the message on this bus can only mean one thing. With support this widespread, San Francisco needs a Gay Pride Parade like a fish needs swimming lessons.
In case you're worried about getting lost in the town, I should add that they flash up this message every few seconds, alternating with the number and destination, so you can still tell which bus is which.
