President Obama called the Supreme Court decision requiring states to recognize same-sex marriage "a victory for America."

"Our nation was founded on a bedrock principle that we are all created equal. The project of each generation is to bridge the meaning of those founding words with the realities of changing times," he said Friday.

My first attempt at a "studio" shot.... and a little humor for a Monday morning :)

Thanks to tommy...c and David Epstein for their excellent counter-top studio shots, they gave me inspiration!

I love this shot because it's the first image I had all planned out in my mind before I ever decided to try making it....

The amendment of marriage law in Taiwan to meet Marriage Equality is getting volcano hot in past 2 weeks. The homophobic 'churches' that count less than 4% of the population are play extra dirtier since the chances of passing the bill is quite high.

No one's getting any special treatment tonight.

In a historic victory for gay rights, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 Friday that gays and lesbians have the constitutional right to marry their chosen partner.

Christopher Park must be one of the smallest parks in New York. It's just a small slice of land with flowers, a few trees, and some comfortable benches. Most importantly, however, is its sculpture by George Segal commemorating the events that occurred across the street when gay patrons at the Stonewall Inn rose up and said "we won't take it anymore" and demanded quality and justice for gay people everywhere. So, the park and its immediate surroundings are sacred space in the quest for equality and justice. That's what makes this very small slice of land a very big slice of history.

“This stream has humans, aliens, monsters, animals, robots, and way too many Japanese high school girls. And who do they bring out to be the face of ‘equality’? Me, Domino — a black mutant woman — on my first appearance! I’m not sure how to feel about that. It would have been nice to be introduced on my own merit.”

"Of equality - As if it harm'd me, giving others the same chances and rights as myself - As if it were not indispensable to my own rights that others possess the same."

Anand is wrapped in a kantha silk scarf made with a hand embroidery.

This artcraft will be manufactured by ladies involved in several workshops that we have settled with GURIA, a Human Rights organisation fighting against the sexual exploitation of women and children, particularly those forced into prostitution and trafficking.

Each scarf is unique and made in sarees provided by several women in Benaras who take this opportunity to get rid of pieces that they brought in order to celebrate happy moments, festivals or parties.

Those accessories carry traces of happiness in their yarns...

Anand, our icon model, shows his body for the purpose of this brotherhood and happiness chain as this is a way to catch the attention on this fight for Human Rights and human dignity.

(Scarf style "Kashi" - 100% silk - Collection RED HALO)

This style is also available for throws and bed covers.

Supreme Court, right after decision announced

The vote to legalize same-sex marriage just passed in New York, 33-29. Congratulations to all the New Yorkers out there newly able to marry their loved ones. Now for the other 44 states.

----

I generally try to keep politics out of my Lego hobby, but let me be absolutely clear. You're welcome to your own opinions, but if one of those opinions is opposition to marriage equality, I'm not interested in hearing it here. Tonight is a night of celebration and joy for millions of people who are now just a little more equal than they were yesterday.

Inspired by our marvelous Nancy's pregnancy in profile (www.flickr.com/photos/nancello/), I thought about the relationship from males to their belly. Maybe it's totally different to a pregnant woman, but it lasts much longer :)

Hopefully I brought a fat smile to you

Not always do laws of the land do justice to men and women. The old fashioned balance seem to convey to the modern era that all are born equal. It is only circumstances and opportunities that we pick and pursue which make us different from one another.

New York City was a pretty incredible place to be today - so much happiness, love and celebration. So thrilled for those who can now say "I do!"
