This is my latest pattern - EQUALITY - and I'm so pleased at how it turned out. The pattern is carried by one quilt shop so far - The Old Alley Quilt Shop in Sherburn MN - but I hope more will give it a try! -Mike

More than 100 armed Virginia State Police were stationed at the edge of campus.

The Soulforce Equality Ride traveled to Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia, to attempt to dialogue with students about the college's religious-based discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer and transgender students. The Riders and dozens of community members, who were committed to and trained for nonviolence, were barred from campus and met with more than 100 armed state police.

For coverage and an excellent short video on the nonviolent vigil for queer rights at Patrick Henry College, see "Young, Gay Christians, On a Bumpy Bus Ride," in The Washington Post, April 13, 2007. An account and video from a Rider is available at www.interstateq.com/archives/1978/, and more photos can be found at www.adambritt.net/photos/Events/PHC.html.

A typical Indian village scene.

The bullock, along with its cart is washed in the same pool where people do their daily ablutions.

Is it equality or acceptance ?....

No one ever questions this thought ...but cleanliness and sanitation does need a definite thought.

This happening is overlooked by a wall writing of an actor dilly dallying in politics !!!. Politics is long forgotten as a means to be a public servant. It is either the abode of thugs who want to chart out a career of money and fame, or is a refuge of people with lot of money to have a shield. As long as such practices continue, rural India would definitely be a witness to such scenes
