Towards the end of the trail, there was a stream with a small cascade. The cascade was nothing special (especially after all the waterfalls that we'd just seen), but the water immediately upstream was like glass. Underneathe the water were freshly fallen leaves, whose color seemed enhanced by the sunlight and water.

I stamped the images ( Raisin Boat Stamps) on the heavy velum with versa mark ink and then embossed it with black embossing powder. I took a sponge and lightly rubbed it to create spooky clouds. The light comes from a battery operated tea light.
Yay! Much as I love knitting single socks, nothing beats finishing an actual pair.
Pattern: Embossed Leaves Socks
Yarn: Sundara Sock Yarn, cinnamon over marmalade
Mods: added 2 more full repeats of the pattern, subbed the eye of partridge heel, and omitted the fussy cast-on.

These are the finished "Embossed Leaves" socks out of the Winter '05 Interweave Knits. I used KnitPicks "Essential" sockyarn in the color called "Fawn."
It was a fun pattern to knit and I'm thinking about doing a second pair out of some light green speckled cotton-wool blend sockyarn I have.
A recycled incoming envelope to which I added a few more airmail stickers, the lovely embossed Small Object poem letter sticker, foil stars and an owl I cut out of a stamp.
Words at the front door on a narrow wall. Copper embossed on wooden plaque. This was my play project/craft this year.
