Towards the end of the trail, there was a stream with a small cascade. The cascade was nothing special (especially after all the waterfalls that we'd just seen), but the water immediately upstream was like glass. Underneathe the water were freshly fallen leaves, whose color seemed enhanced by the sunlight and water.

Yay! Much as I love knitting single socks, nothing beats finishing an actual pair.
Pattern: Embossed Leaves Socks
Yarn: Sundara Sock Yarn, cinnamon over marmalade
Mods: added 2 more full repeats of the pattern, subbed the eye of partridge heel, and omitted the fussy cast-on.
Transferencia en blanco y negro y embossing (aunque no se ve muy bien dentro de la flor verde) Por delante.
This card was just to show that I can use traditional holiday colors! :) Paper and red ribbon were from a Sew-Easy Ribbon Make & Take thing that I didn't finish. This used the Sew Easy Leaf ribbon die--cool tool! Used the Spellbinders poinsettia creations die and coordinating Heartfelt Creations layered poinsettia stamps--embossed in red tinsel. Leaves inked with distress evergreen bough and shabby shutters. Turned out cool. Very Sparkly. Happy Holidays stamp from Old Island Stamp Company, also in red tinsel.
At Stamp Group on Saturday at Stamp'n'create, there was a new embossing folder waiting for me.... It is called Jules Jewells... and is just lovely. I had seen this technique some where on the web... where you embossed, then painted over acrylic paint, then once that had dried you sanded it off and then inked it... the sample used pink acrylic and brown ink, but I chose to use purple acrylic and purple ink. I finished off with a piece of purple ribbon. I did have a bit of a laugh later in the day as the demo of the day was using Bazzil whitewash and Choc box card to emboss and then sand..... much simpler than my method!!!
Words at the front door on a narrow wall. Copper embossed on wooden plaque. This was my play project/craft this year.
Clifton and I ordered a custom embosser for correspondence. We just received this in the mail and we love it! $100.00 bucks.

I'm waiting for lots of goodies to arrive, but I really wanted to try some of the techniques in THCC102 with what I've already got. Here's a go at embossing through a Dylusions stencil.
Stamp is from Dina Wakley.

Polished Sand is a venetian plaster finish with a raised texture that has been burnished (polished with a carbonized steel trowel). An embossed design has also been burnished and adds to the 'wow!' effect. Visit us at Venetian Plaster Artist NJ
