embosser, or seal press, and occasionally, lever press. bought in hamilton about twenty years ago, in an odd barn of an antique store that was rarely open (and was turned into a terrible sports equipment swap shop later).
when used (leaned on heavily, while swearing), the raised print reads canadian sanitation company, limited in a ring, with private company on the inside.
Embossed with the GNC Seal on card this bears no comparison to the scrap of paper awarded by todays Nursing & Midwifery Council

I'm loving bubbles and pairs of lines at the moment. This started with the bubbles in the middle, then I began repeating patterns around it.
hastily executed version of the invitations (man they seem so old now) demonstrating how nice they would have looked had ups not lost the dies...
My first attempt at embossed cookies. I hate how the pictures turned out, but overall a very neat, cute way to decorate cookies.
A classic Victorian home, you might think? Nope, it’s the wall at the Hard Rock Café on Maui. Go figure.
Update: I’m published! Dwell ran a teeny tiny crop of this photo in their May 2010 issue — check it out on page 122. It accompanied an article about what not to do when it comes to decorating your walls with texture. Sorry, Hard Rock Café.
I've been wanting to use Uniko's Flower Power 1 stencil & here's what I came up with. The DO inks are candied apple & rustic wilderness. I used TH Sizzix poinsettia folder to emboss the panel. Really love SSS Peaceful Christmas which I got for a steal from a stamper purging craft goodies. So great to be able to stamp with DO inks to match a background. The sentiment from Peaceful Christmas is stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne. Decided against bling & just added 3 dots of Christmas Red Stickles to the flower center. There's a close up in my blog post ggnursecreations.blogspot.com/2021/12/two-holiday-cards.html
Happy New Year & TFL!
This card is inspired by the card on page 123 of Paper Crafts 101 magazine.
Stunning Snowflakes are stamped in New Canvas ink and embossed with Ranger Silver Pearl interference EP. The frame is hand-drawn with silver pen and the snowflake is Martha Stewart. The holiday saying is stamped in Denim and embossed with the same EP (interference embossing powders are so fun because they look different with different inks).

First embossing print with a 3D-printed printing plate. The detail is absolutely fantastic in this print, and (to me) many of the smaller imperfections that the ink print brought out do not come through as badly here.
Tim Holtz embossing folder, SSS Snowfall stencil & Heidi Swapp stickers for the card I'm entering at the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge & the SSS Flickr challenge to use embossing. Details here: ggnursecreations.blogspot.com/2015/06/embossed-trees.html Thanks for looking!
I recently got SSS Refracted ef & Outline Floral Cross die while they were on super sale. Love them both already! Can't remember where I saw the suggestion to get the leftover ink out of your brushes using them over a stencil. I did it just on a scrap panel with my Distress Oxide brushes. It didn't look very good, but made a beautiful background when covered with the embossed light weight vellum! I love gold with pastels, so die cut the cross from white & from gold. Now I will make another card with the leftover pieces. The gold embossed sentiment is W&W. Almost didn't add embellishments, but decided I liked using just 3 gold sequins. Detail: Left panel of the triptych, a view from above of the turning of the "heads" and thus the torsos of the relief of the predella of this study, the embossing relief of PROCRUSTES INN REGISTER and on the bases of PROCRUSTES IN SITU
1992-1997
Wood, graphite, colored pencil, acrylic modeling paste
One element of the PROCRUSTES TRILOGY:
Procrustes In Situ
Oratorio--variation on a Theme by Joseph Bor
Martyrs of the Cities of the Plain
The PREPARATORY STUDY FOR PROCRUSTES INN REGISTER and for PROCRUSTES IN SITU consists of a triptych of 4’ wide wall panels. The first panel, that on the left, is the preparatory study for each of the seven pages of PROCRUSTES INN REGISTER, writing concerning the structure and the metaphors to be included in the work, and a record of its being created both by the artist and by Brighten Press.
The middle panel is the preparatory study for the sculpture then to be realized in PROCRUSTES IN SITU with a brief statement about each of the “seven beds” within the Inn of Procrustes, that of the father, the young man, fear, tradition, the young woman, the child and the mother.
On the third panel, that on the right, are the preparatory drawings for the tablets which lean against the pedestal of each of the seven beds in PROCRUSTES IN SITU as well as the dialogues between the occupants of the beds and a particular manifestation of Procrustes, and an explanation of these dialogues.
At the bottom of each panel are brief entries by the artist as if in his own diary, personal thoughts and a record of actual events relating directly to the general concept of the restrictive and debilitating power of Procrustes. Within these entries at the bottom of each panel appear three fragments of the running monologue/diatribe of Procrustes that is embossed into the surface of each of the plates of the turning torsos seen at the top of each of the seven pages of PROCRUSTES INN REGISTER, a monologue/diatribe that reads from left to right across all seven of these plates/pages and is as beautiful as it is violent.
Beneath the three panels is the study for the embossing plates which were used in the printing process of Procrustes Inn Register and that appear on the pedestals of each of the seven “beds” of Procrustes In Situ. This “Predella” consists of four torsos in a seven times repeating configuration of male, male, female, female and in which each torso makes a quarter turn, the first figure counter-clockwise, the second clockwise, etcetera, from left to right the entire length of the study. These torsos begin in a relatively shallow relief at the left and emerge ever higher until the fourth repeat after which the torsos again recede into a shallower relief. The embossing of the pages of Procrustes Inn Register reflects this swelling so that at the apex on the fourth page the paper was stretched almost to its capacity.

I had some time to craft tonight so I made the most of it by whipping up six Christmas cards. This one is for my granddaughters and I used stamps by Imaginisce (deer and gingerbread boy), dies by Spellbinders and Lawn Fawn, and a sentiment by The Cats Pajamas. The embossing folder is by Sizzix.
