Embedded in the middle of the #FlyingBat nebula is an extremely faint blue nebula called the #Squid nebula. It is so faint that it was only discovered in 2011 and astronomers don't quite understand the nature of it yet. Current thinking is that it really does lie within the Flying Bat about 2300 light years away. It continues to be my most challenging subject to date. This image is 5 hours of exposure (30x600 seconds). The 10 minutes of each individual frame are my longest exposures so far. Not happy with the overall processing yet but happy I got some of the blue. #StillLearning
