Ah misère, urgence vétérinaire ce matin avec Elsa (heureusement que j'ai un chef compréhensif). Depuis hier elle tousse très fort par moments. Hier j'ai pensé qu'elle avait quelque chose de coincé dans la trachée, mais la radiographie et l'examen ont confirmé qu'elle a une trachéite (certainement la conséquence de notre promenade dans la tempête d'il y a quelques jours, voila ce qu'il arrive quand on vient d'une ile tropicale et qu'on vit en Belgique). La voici donc sous antibiotiques et anti-inflammatoire pour plusieurs jours. Sortie autorisée s'il ne fait pas trop mauvais et avec un manteau. Espérons qu'elle ne contaminera pas Rambo (qui heureusement est sous antibiotiques à vie).
Si je résume : Rambo a 5 médicaments à prendre, dont 3 deux fois par jour, Elsa a 2 médicaments à prendre pendant une dizaine de jours et Pistache en a aussi 3 à prendre.... c'est pire qu'une infirmerie ici !
Oh dear, veterinary emergency this morning with Elsa (luckily I have an understanding boss). Since yesterday she has been coughing very hard at times. Yesterday I thought she had something stuck in the throat, but the X-ray and examination confirmed that she has tracheitis (certainly the consequence of our walk in the storm a few days ago; this is what happens when you come from a tropical island and live in Belgium). So now she is on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory for several days. Walks allowed if the weather is not too bad and with a coat. Hopefully it won't contaminate Rambo (who fortunately is on lifelong antibiotics).
If I sum up: Rambo has 5 different drugs to take, 3 of them twice a day, Elsa has 2 drugs to take, 1 of them twice a day for ten days and Pistache my cat also has 3 to take .... it's worse than an infirmary here !

Ne vous fiez pas à son air malheureux, elle va très bien, elle tousse juste et déjà nettement moins.

Don't be fooled by her unhappy look, she is doing very well, she just coughs and already much less.
Dès qu'il fait un peu beau Elsa retrouve sa place préférée au jardin, en haut du petit escalier. Comme moi elle aime être dehors et elle sera contente du retour du printemps.
As soon as the weather is a bit nice, Elsa finds her favourite place in the garden, at the top of the stair. Like me, she likes to be outside and she will be happy with the return of spring.

Le matin je passe près d'un endroit où quelqu'un a planté des arbres fruitiers qui sont maintenus en place par des tuteurs. Elle a déjà volé plusieurs tuteurs, je suis obligée chaque fois d'intervenir

Pas une photo d'art (prise avec mon téléphone), mais je voulais vous montrer la drôle de position d'Elsa, sachant que le matelas (brun) est nettement plus haut que la couverture verte !
Not an art photo (taken with my phone), but I wanted to show you Elsa's funny position, knowing that the mattress (brown) is significantly thicker than the green blanket!
Ca c'est bien Elsa, là elle nous fait un "gros dodo innocent" après avoir gigoté toute la journée ! Depuis qu'il y a du soleil, Elsa passe tout son temps au jardin à aboyer sur tout ce qui bouge, sans parler des 3 promenades sportives de plus de 2 heures au total. Mais au soir, après le souper, enfin elle s'endort, ouf.
This is typically Elsa, sleeping innocently after giggling all day! Since it is sunny, Elsa spends all her time in the garden barking on everything that moves, not to mention the 3 sports walks of more than 2 hours in total. But in the evening, after diner, finally she falls asleep, phew.
Je l'appelle "Elsa la folle". Elle a une de ces énergies et grain de folie je ne vous dis pas. Même Lewis est calme comparé à elle. Je ne vous parle pas des promenades, elle est infatigable et devient presque hystérique quand je prends la laisse. Je dois la faire asseoir pour lui enfiler le harnais, tant elle est surexcitée. Ce qui m'inquiète d'ailleurs, car la semaine prochaine elle sera stérilisée et je me demande bien comment la faire tenir tranquille après l'opération
I call her "Elsa the mad". She has such an energy and behaves crazy. Even Lewis is calm compared to her. And she is a walk addict, she is tireless and almost becomes hysterical when I take the leash. She is so excited that I have to force her to sit down to put on the harness. I'm quite worried because next week she will be neutered and I wonder how the hell I will be able to make her stay still after the surgery.
