With the Flower and Garden Festival of 2016 set to kickoff soon, the topiaries are making their way back around Epcot. This year Anna and Elsa are located in Norway. While that may be controversial, to me it is better than front and center to the entrance of World Showcase. I really like this new location as sunset on the lagoon really brings the light right onto the topiaries.

J'ai peu de photos de Lewis et Elsa ensemble (ils sont trop remuants), alors hier j'ai décidé qu'il était temps pour une petite séance photo. Avec l'aide de friandises (très efficace avec Lewis, moins avec Elsa) j'y suis arrivée. Bon l'arrière-plan pourrait être meilleur, mais ce sera pour la prochaine fois.
I have few pictures of Lewis and Elsa together (they don't stand still), so yesterday I decided it was time for a little photo shoot. With the help of treats (very effective with Lewis, less with Elsa) I did it. Well the background could be better, but it will be for next time.

I couldn't wait any longer for the Elsa nendoroid release date so... I decided to do a bit of photo manipulation.
Fière d'Elsa ce matin. Un grand chien berger blans suisse s'est précipité vers nous en forêt. Un chien qui fait 5 fois la taille de Lewis, ce n'est pas rassurant. Du coup j'ai lâché Elsa. Au départ j'ai cru que ça allait tourner en bagarre, mais comme je suis restée calme finalement elle a sympathysé plus ou moins avec ce chien. Juste quand il s'est approché de moi elle s'est interposée. Cela m'a confirmé de nouveau qu'Elsa est très différente sans laisse
Proud of Elsa this morning. A big white Swiss Shepherd dog rushed towards us in the forest. A dog that is 5 times the size of Lewis is quite scary. So I unleashed Elsa. At first I thought it was going to turn into a fight, but as I remained calm she eventually sympathized more or less with this dog. Just when he approached me she stepped in. So I got another confirmation that Elsa is very different off leash.

J'ai dû pas mal retoucher la photo, car la couleur d'Elsa se confondait avec celle des fougères (ce qui au départ était un peu le but de la photo)
I had to retouch the photo quite a bit, because Elsa's colour merged with that of the ferns (which was also initially the aim of the photo)
Last weekend the conditions were brutally cold. On Friday night the wind chill dropped to minus 108 on the top of Mount Washington, breaking the US record. Down here in the Merrimack Valley, we experienced very low temperatures also, as the thermometer hit minus 14 and the wind chill dropped to around minus 34 degrees. Just before sunrise on Saturday morning, when I made this image, it was still brutally cold outside.
But I didn't have to worry about any of that, since I was standing in my living room in basketball shorts when I clicked the shutter release for this one. This intricate pattern of ice fractals formed overnight on the storm door on the front of our house and was gone about an hour after sunrise. And while I was able to beat the cold and wind, I was not entirely free of distractions, as we were trying to get breakfast together and both of my daughters were actively crying the moment I composed this photo. Arguably tougher conditions than minus 108.
p.s. I will try my hardest to limit myself to one Disney character title per month, but the real ones know I had to name this one Elsa. The fractals line is the best line of the song.

Parce qu'elle fait le double de Lewis et qu'elle est forte comme un taureau, j'ai tendance à voir en Elsa un grand chien. Mais quand elle dort, je me rends compte que finalement elle n'est pas bien
Because she's double the size of Lewis and strong as a bull, I tend to think of Elsa as a big dog. But when she sleeps, I realize that she is not very big though.

Elsa va être stérilisée le 22 mai. On ne sait pas si ce sera une simple ovariectomie ou une ovariohystérectomie (plus fréquente chez une chienne de son âge). Je suis un peu stressée, pas tellement pour l'opération qui est devenue une opération de routine, mais plutôt pour la convalescence. Ma vétérinaire m'a rassurée (par rapport à ce qu'on lit sur internet), mais Elsa est plutôt brutale et la faire tenir plus ou moins tranquille au début ne sera pas chose aisée. Je prendrai congé mercredi ainsi que jeudi et vendredi matin (l'après-midi je télétravaille) afin d'être à la maison les premiers jours.

Quand "miss 10.000 volts" dort, elle dort vraiment ! Souvent le soir après le repas elle disparait, elle part dormir sur mon lit tandis que Lewis reste avec moi au salon.
When "miss 10,000 volts" is sleeping, she is really sleeping! Often in the evening after the meal she disappears, she goes to sleep on my bed while Lewis stays with me in the living room.
