In response to my flickr friend Ross W quote about " the clouds have been magnificent this spring" -- spare a thought for us poor California coastal towns that rarely get to enjoy those puffy, white things.
Our weather breaks down on an annual basis like this: Puffy white clouds 20 to 40 days per YEAR /// Marine Layer / grey days 200 - 230 per year and Blue-Sky days at 100 to 130 per year.
So enjoy making illustrations and stories in the sky while we stare at more May Gray / June Gloom....
Puffy, white cloud days are very rare and thus much more memorable....

Had a very summery sunrise at Bawdsey this morning, but as I was heading home a storm started coming in, so took a detour to Shingle Street. Shortly after this amazing cloud appeared, I was caught in the most almighty thunderstorm with driving pea-sized hail and visibility went down to about 10ft. Safe to say I got more than a little wet...
An image that has been on the cards for a while now.
Earth element was just a random leaf from the garden. Water was created using the SplashArt II kit. Wind which is a difficult one to interpret was one of those pyramid incense cones. Fire which was the most fun was lighter fuel!
Obviously not taken in one shot! Each scene was lit with a single YN560IV 24mm @ 1/32. 24" softbox behind subjects with a piece of black foamboard between the two. Foambord was also used at the sides to reflect some light back into the scene.
