Long forgotten ruins where ancient cults praised the Great Old Ones.

My profile on 500px:
Earth warrior, Water archer, Wind assassin, and Fire Ninja.
This started with the Water archer and Fire ninja, they were going to be in the space fig barf pic but I decided to pull them out since they didn't fit the theme very well. Then I made Earth warrior and Wind assassin to go with them.
I think Earth warrior is my favorite, whats yours?
Please comment if you favorite and let me know what you think!

This is the first image in my new portrait series exploring the symbolism of the natural elements; water, fire, earth and air. There are a lot of other elements existing in our world, but I'm choosing to focus on these four because of their strong correspondence to our internal states of emotion and their deep roots woven throughout our history as humans.
Water is an essential part of our existence. It can give life, or take it away, symbolizing both birth and death. In this series, I plan to explore the balancing characteristics of each element. In many cultures, water represents cleansing of impurities, or renewal.
I went into this shoot intent to capture the more destructive essence of water. But the stillness of the lake on this quiet morning, along with the way the light transformed its deep blue to a luminescent white gave the images a very different direction.

Earth. Air. Water. Fire.

Started with the accessories on this one then started putting them together... then got the theme.
The Earth shook upon the calling of the spell, rocks lifting up on their own accord while the mystic voice continues to chant. Piece by piece the stone creature came alive with a guttural roar, its green eyes shining in the light of the mage's scepter, ready to serve its new master.

So there was this "316" (16x16 studs base and 16 bricks tall) MOC competition going on in the Facebook group, and I got to be the judge alongside a couple of other friends. The judges weren't allowed to participate, of course, but I got real itchy just watching people build, and decided to make one and post it during the judging period. XD
Been some time since I've touched on the fantasy/medieval age themes, and I kinda miss it, considering I left way before I got the chance to jump deeper into it. Probably would go do something in that theme in the near future :P
Insomnia strikes again!
Woke up at 3 am, a few hours before having to leave to pick up Lisa from her all night shift, and couldn't get back to sleep, so I made coffee and figured I would use the time to perform another Picnik experiment.
This was a beautiful leaf under icy water on a gorgeous November afternoon, as the weather was transitioning from extreme cold to a gorgeous temperate period, so there was golden, warm late-afternoon sun shining down and illuminating the water of this creek in Fish Creek Park, which had this perfect, whole autumn leaf submerged in it and trapped against a rock.
Again, very impressed with the range and functionality of the Picnik editing package, although it is not obviously not as intensively versatile as Photoshop.
However, the editing for this photo only took about a quarter of the time that doing the same in Photoshop would have taken, so I can't complain.
I would imagine that there are going to be a lot of sad flickr photo editors come April when they get rid of Picnik!

Last weekend, while on a road trip up the Sonoma Coast, Mother Nature put on a show that completely took my breath away. It took me a few hours to be able to walk and think normally again. These are the moments I live for. If I've been able to recreate even a sliver of that magic in this image, that's all I could ask for.
It was great shooting here with Bob Bowman, Mike Ryan, and Mike Shoys. After seeing their incredible takes on this scene, I almost didn't even bother processing mine, but I was so fascinated by the different ways we saw the scene that I decided to go through with it. I think Tung got some great shots of us from the other side.
When the sunset forecast told us to get out...we dropped what we were doing (ironically, we were working on the app), grabbed the car keys, and... f/it and be there. Wouldn't have had it any other way.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my work.
Highest: #287! I really don't know if I like this car. What about you, love it or hate it? Sorry for the people in the background. 3,000+ views is INSANE for me! THANK YOU!!
For those who also follow me on instagram, a big thank you for getting me to 500 followers over the past 3 months (thats almost the equivalent of 2 and a half years on flickr!).
Something alot of people particularly like about my 'artwork inspired' series, is the elemental weapons and accessories the figures have. So what better way to celebrate than two specific photoshoots to display them!
All the painted parts are made from thin plastic sheets, (the type you find on action figure boxes). All are hand painted which is really where my art skills help this. I intend to make more in this style, maybe a couple of other sabers too. The 'Enix' Vader's 'force flames' and Fett's 'thruster flames' are currently being made/non removable.
If there are any particular objects or weapons you'd like to see made in the style above, send me a message or leave a link to an image bellow, and it's likely they will be made!
Also nearing 700 followers on here, so would like to say another big thank you to you guys!
Upon 800 followers, I'll be hosting a contest where ( probably artwork/sculpture inspired figures #artyfarty) where first place wins either a Desert Nomad Obi-wan or another artwork inspired commission. And yes, I will do that rare thing of shipping world wide from the UK.
As always guys, let me know what you think and if you have any other ideas/suggestions that you want to see made.
I currently have 'wibbly wobbly timey wimey' schedule, but I may fit in one or two more things over this holiday.
If your still reading this far, then good on you! XD
p.s any design work/competition prize winners, I havn't forgotten about you!

Sometimes going that extra mile really pays off. Search a little harder than everyone else and go to places that others won't and one day you will strike gold. That is exactly what I did nearly two years ago while scouring a section of coastline that I have visited a hundred times and then one day found this incredible archway. Since I have been going back attempting to capture this image that I had in my head but without luck. That was until a few weeks ago when everything finally came together and I was able to take that perfect shot. A lot of time has gone into this one but I think it has really paid off :)

Had the pleasure of photographing this young lady on Saturday. As is always the case in the flat lands of southeast Texas, it was windy. After fighting with it for a bit, I said, "Just let the wind do it's thing."
