my first 3-D car cake

I was expecting to find a parking ticket on my car this morning but instead I found this. Teen prank? Secret admirer? Wrong car? License plate appreciator? Drunken randomness?

Here we have a recently acquired Q-element in the discontinued colour 131 Silver (Pearl Light Gray as Bricklink calls it) next to a regular production element. From what I have heard, many of the Q-elements in that colour were used for a model in Legoland Windsor. Looking at the parts that are currently for sale on Bricklink, this size seems to be one of the rarest. Surprisingly, we can get most of the standard bricks in 131 on Bricklink, some in very large quantities. Now that I have started, I guess I have to place some orders to acquire all the other q-parts in this amazing colour. I just love the little swirls and lines that are created during the moulding process.
