It's easy to take for granted something as fundamental and routine as eggs but when you consider the seemingly endless way in which they can be used, it's nothing short of amazing.

I picked up this new ornament at craft show recently. Last night as I decorated the Christmas tree I realized it was perfect for today's theme. :)

Fun still life to test Kenko 2X teleconverter with Hasselblad 80mm to combine magnification with the 80mm closer focusing.

tongkm's photos of boiled eggs are always perfection flic.kr/p/2rwCGxr he steams them. i've never steamed an egg, always boiled. time to have a go and test the results ...

the first steamed egg was removed after 10 minutes from the water being boiled from cold - would have taken less time if i'd used less water - noted for next time - i've since read an inch depth of water is enough, i had far more than that!

verdict: runny but tasted fine, though i like my boiled eggs firm

1st steamed egg flic.kr/p/2rvWbXH too runny, my fault, steaming is great, read on

2nd steamed egg flic.kr/p/2rw3g2L my favourite!

I thought at first they were hover fly eggs, but there was about 15cm of this wavy grass stem covered with them and that seems to be a lot for one hover fly. Maybe moth eggs? Any clues?

I love painting these eggs! They are painted with ink on hollow goose and duck eggs. I like using Adirondack brand. Fun!

Fabergé egg? - If only. A gift from friends many years ago. Whilst not Fabergé still very nice and normally resides in our display case with various other ornaments collected over the years. It had an 'outing' for this picture!

Hen's egg decorated using my Egg-Bot. I had considered making an "ether egg", one of my designs uploaded to Thingiverse but decided this was more photogenic.

Strobist: The egg is on deep-black photo background. Two 430 EX III RT with diffuser just outside the photo camera right/left approximately 45-degrees toward camera. White sheet of paper held over the egg for a bit of fill.

The eggs of "pond skaters" (Gerridae). Found in a beck (stream) on Howarth Moor. West Yorkshire. England.

week 03 : Food

Did a little eggsperiment for this weeks theme. I got one of these silicon shape things to put your eggs in. I wouldn't recommend it for daily use but made for a fun shot. 580EXII flash on camera bounced off ceiling. Plate sitting on a beautiful cutting board my brother Jay made for dad.

They say a woman is like Bacon, They smell good, look good, taste good and slowly kill men 😊

Have a great week friends
