You've heard of the SmartCar. This looks like the motorcycle version, though I also think it eerily resembles the "IT" from an infamous South Park episode. It gets 70 to 80 mph and if I heard the promoter correctly, it's legal on city streets but not highways.

This custom project has been nicknamed the "Tree House" designed and owned by the Wagner Partnership. Project is located in southern Arizona about an hour from Tucson, AZ. Great evolution of a energy efficient project, showing only a small trash can of waste at the end of installation. 60% reduction in waste that goes to the landfills- so much better for the environment!

Given the fruitful and efficient cooperation of the two organizations, the Memorandum of Understanding between FAO and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) was extended for another 5 years. FAO Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia Vladimir Rakhmanin signed the Protocol of Extension together with the Minister of the EEC responsible for Industry and Agriculture Aliaksandr Subbotin.
The signing ceremony was preceded with a working meeting of the Minister with technical experts of the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Russian Federation in Hungary Vladimir Sergeyev, Counselor of the Embassy of Belarus Vadim Pahomchik, and Counselor of the Embassy of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Amirov.

Плодотворное и эффективное сотрудничество двух организаций стало причиной принятого решения о продлении действия Меморандума о взаимопонимании между ФАО и Евразийской экономической комиссией (ЕЭК) на последующие 5 лет. Протокол о продлении был подписан Региональным представителем ФАО в Европе и Центральной Азии Владимиром Рахманиным и Министром ЕЭК по промышленности и АПК Александром Субботиным.
Церемонии подписания предшествовала рабочая встреча Министра с техническими экспертами Регионального офиса ФАО в Европе и Центральной Азии. На встрече также присутствовали Посол Российской Федерации в Венгрии Владимир Сергеев, Советник Посольства Беларуси Вадим Пахомчик и Советник Посольства Казахстана Галымжан Амиров.
Евразийская экономическая комиссия – это межправительственная организация, регулирующий орган Евразийского экономического союза, в который входят Армения, Беларусь, Казахстан, Кыргызстан и Россия. Организация является наблюдателем в ФАО. Меморандум о взаимопонимании между ФАО и ЕЭК был подписан в 2013 году на 5 лет. За это время был реализован План мероприятий, включавший различные сферы сотрудничества.

AURANGABAD, India, May 10, 2011 (IPS) - When their sugarcane crops failed to deliver a good yield three years ago, Kantabai Chavan and her husband Baban decided to try a new strategy.
I'm not sure if this image will interest anybody, but it is a view that most people would never normally get to see. If ever you've ridden in a lift (elevator) and wondered what makes it go up and down, well the green things (or something like them) do. These motors had just been installed and where fitted with 'state of the art energy efficient smart technology'.
I love that the footprint is highly efficient. I know it's not the big, open kitchens with the islands of the kitchen mags. But everything is within a few steps and there's nothing to have to walk around or bang into.
I think the galley kitchen is highly underrated and under appreciated and I'm very pleased to think we could preserve that working space and still open it up visually too.

SOL Austin: Net-Zero Capable
Beck-Reit and Sons Ltd., an Austin General Contractor, has been working on sustainable construction methods since they day we started building houses. Our desire to build a better house led us to the development of the SOL (Solutions Oriented Living) subdivision in East Austin. We partnered with local architect KRDB to design, develop, and build a net-zero capable sub-division centered around a community of 40 modern homes. Thru passive design, efficient building envelope and solar power these homes can produce more energy than they consume. SOL has received national attention and has been featured in the New York Times, Metro-Homes, DIY Network’s: This New House, Builder Magazine, and Green Builder Magazine.

You know, people say the Prius is small but Trish and I have been amazed at how functional it actually is. This weekend at IKEA, for instance, we managed to fit 2 large shelving units, 3 cabinet units, 2 table tops, 4 glass cabinet doors, 2 medium-sized filing cabinet units, other miscellaneous items, and 2 adults in the Prius.

With energy efficient lighting, separate tenancy metering, low VOC materials and the ability to recycle rainwater, the five green star rated South Regional Business Centre effectively portrays Green and Landscape Urbanism (Pope 2013). The orientation of the building, hanging gardens, shading and natural vegetation reduces heat load on the glazing and produces an aesthetically pleasing and eco-friendly environment for the pedestrian.
Energy-efficient chandelier in the dining room. When we bought the house this thing had 12 *yes twelve!* 40 watt candelabra light bulbs and on the bottom a 100watt small flood light. Total energy usage used to be *gulp* 580 watts!!!
I replaced them with 12 LED light bulbs that use 1.5 watts each (for 18 watts) and a 20watt CFL on the bottom part. So that light fixture went from consuming 580 watts to using 38 watts TOTAL. It still lights up the room nicely.
Incandescent bulbs should be banned! a very inneficcient 130+ year technology that needs to go the way of 35 MM cameras and records.

Rwanda’s Business Development Fund (BDF), in partnership with the Rwanda Green Fund (FONERWA), UN Environment’s United for Efficiency initiative and the Basel Agency for Sustainable Energy (BASE) have today launched the ‘Coolease’ financial mechanism to promote adoption of energy efficient and climate friendly cooling solutions in Rwanda.
The Coolease scheme is one of the first of its kind in Africa, and will enable suppliers and consumers of air conditioning and refrigerations products to transition to the latest technology without an upfront investment.
Grid ceiling heating | Infrared heat for system ceilings
A fast and efficient heating solution for your application: The Vitramo infrared heater inserted into the grid ceiling (#system ceiling, #Odenwald ceiling). Vitramo, the southern German manufacturer of electric infrared heating systems, offers the VH06262 infrared heater, a technically and visually very convincing variant for insertion into suspended grid ceilings.
Grid ceilings are widely used in public and commercial properties. For this area of application, Vitramo has developed the VH (VH06262) series of special infrared heating elements that can be inserted into the grid system as desired instead of conventional tiles. In this way, entire rooms or even specific areas equipped with a system ceiling can be specifically supplied with infrared radiant heat, for example the checkout area in a supermarket, the changing rooms in a swimming pool or the foreman's office in a workshop hall.
Each element of the VH series consists of a 5 mm thick, satinised white ESG glass pane, which is heated on the back by a heating layer applied in a sandwich construction. Thermal insulation minimises radiation losses to the top. The electrical power per element is 810 W, the maximum surface temperature of the radiating surface is 190 °C. The heating medium ends at 35 mm. The heating medium ends 35 mm before the edge of the glass pane. As glass is a poor heat conductor, the insert profile of the system ceiling is safely protected from excessive temperature loads. The VH06262 panel fits exactly into system ceilings with the grid axis dimension of 62.5 cm. Another version (VH06060) for grid ceilings with an axial dimension of 60.0 cm is available on request.
For mains connection, the heating elements are fitted with a plug on the unit cover to match the connection socket supplied. For ecodesign-compliant operation, infrared heating elements of the VH series, which are used for tempering closed rooms, must be equipped with an external room temperature control.
