Taken with my new point & shoot, which not only did I manage to get as a birthday gift, I managed to get it early ;-) This was from a group of my first shots, and might have been sooc, had I not tweaked the settings and underexposed it...
This photo is from when I played around (more often) with fun effects on my iPhone. This particular effect gives the motive a bit more edges and glowing colors. I think it's kinda cool.

The engineer of this southbound Canadian National train at Conneaut, Ohio, is waiting for his conductor to get a ride to the head end so they can depart town with a load of taconite pellets. The train shows the effect of winter on the former Bessemer & Lake Erie route.

Another from that balmy calm winter day. I really wanted to keep shooting this till the sun went in the water (7 minutes later) but there were about 5 other folks who wanted my spot so I gave in. No special effects here - just F20 making that star out of the sun I think. BTW, got caught by a "sneaker wave" a couple of minutes before. Should have learned this by now. I'm thinking boots or bare feet on my next beach outing duh.
