viale con cipressi.

A black and white, Lensbaby photo of a weathered old wooden barn in a snow covered field. With a focus on the structure, the lens adds a bit of blur around the edges of the photo. The scene evokes the quiet solitude of a rural winter landscape, where the history of the structure tells a silent story of it’s survival against the elements.

The cold air passing over warmer water created misty lake fog effects.

acrylic paint on my easel backboard created by canvas edge over painting

Inspired by Pissaro’s painting ‘The Effect of Fog’, I took this shot while walking along the Schuykill river in Philadelphia one morning. I first thought this shot would yield a black and white image, but then changed my mind. I used my Nikon D750 and 135 mm Ai f2.8 at f5.6 for capture and Lightroom for processing.

This earliest of my hellebores began blooming last week, along with the early daffodils! Such a happy harbinger of things to come!

A bit after sunrise from a place that was one of the first farms in Otago about 1840 a little north of Dunedin. Have a good weekend. Probably going to rain here.

St David...the patron saint of Wales, is celebrated on the 1st March...and I wish all my Welsh Flickr friends...

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus !

May your day be filled with daffodils and leeks!!
