The National Journal held a town hall meeting at Drake University on October 22nd as part of their series called The Next America: Population 2043, which focuses on issues relating to the nation’s changing demographics.
Throughout two panel discussions, the event featured remarks from education, immigration, and demographic experts as well as representatives from Des Moines Public Schools including Tom Ahart, Vinh Nguyen, and Mike Vukovich. The keynote address was given by, Catherine Lhamon, the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Eduction.
Soren picked out his Minor Threat shirt for his first day of school as a gesture of his intent to ensure his public eduction doesn't instill in him the prevailing societal ethos, moral codes, and mores that make for a general culture that is apathetic/complacent to, and accomplice of, the power structures and history "lessons" that will see to it that he is an obedient, faceless number that will work his life away toiling to ensure the hopes and dreams of our ruling elites become a reality in place of his own.

On Tuesday, December 16, at Perspectives Charter Schools’ Rodney D. Joslin Campus, at 1930 S. Archer, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Benjamin led a discussion that introduced the students to his experiences serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer. In a general assembly he talked about global health and environmental issues, cross-cultural understanding and the importance of community service. Peace Corps Volunteers work at the grassroots level to develop sustainable solutions that address challenges in education, health, economic development, agriculture, environment and youth development.
At Perspectives, real-world, experiential learning opportunities are integrated into classroom curriculum including welcoming visitors with a broad range of skills and professional interests to open the minds of students to the myriad professional possibilities available to them. Through partnerships with museums, businesses and other organizations as host sites for Field Studies, Perspectives develops specific curriculum that prepares students for their learning experiences, building on the 26 principles of the A Disciplined Life eduction model. Combined, these opportunities give students a "big picture" of the world around them and a sense of connectedness to the broader community.

ترأس سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن زايد آل نهيان وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي رئيس مجلس التعليم والموارد البشرية الاجتماع الـ / 22/ للمجلس الذي عقد في ديوان عام الوزارة بأبوظبي.
ورحب سموه في بداية الاجتماع بأعضاء المجلس فيما تم بعد ذلك اعتماد محضر الاجتماع الـ /21 / لمجلس التعليم والموارد البشرية.
وتطرقت معالي حصة بنت عيسى بوحميد إلى مختبر الابتكار لأصحاب الهمم من فئة الصم الذي تم تنظيمه من قبل وزارة تنمية المجتمع، بهدف تطوير الخدمات المقدمة للصم في الدولة وإيصال رسالة الأشخاص الصم إلى صانعي القرار من خلال التعبير عن التحديات التي يواجهونها، واقتراح الحلول المجدية التي تساعدهم على ممارسة حياتهم بأقصى قدر من الاستقلالية أسوة بالآخرين.
حيث استعرض المختبر الأول من نوعه أهم التحديات التي يواجهها الصم في المجالات التعليمية والتوظيف والحياة العامة، وأهمية إصدار قاموس إماراتي موحد للغة الاشارة الخاصة بالصم مما يرفع من مستوى تعاملهم مع أقرانهم وتفهمهم لاحتياجاتهم وبالتالي اندماجهم التعليمي والمجتمعي.
كما أشارت معالي حصة بنت عيسى بوحميد خلال الاجتماع إلى استعداد اللجنة العليا لاستضافة الألعاب الإقليمية للأولمبياد الخاص في إمارة أبوظبي، بالإضافة إلى بدء استقبال الوفود المشاركة في المدن المضيفة بالتعاون مع المجالس التنفيذية في الحكومات المحلية، التي ستنفذ سلسلة من البرامج والزيارات على مدى ثلاثة أيام في جميع إمارات الدولة، إبتداءاً من 12 إلى 15 مارس 2018 للتعرف على تراث وتاريخ الدولة والتبادل الثقافي والمعرفي حول شتى المجالات، ودورها في دعم وتمكين أصحاب الهمم، وإبراز أهم الأحداث الرياضية الإنسانية المنظمة في دولة الإمارات بتكاتف كافة فئات المجتمع داعمين ومشاركين في إنجاحه.
وناقشت معاليها مشروع كود الإمارات للبيئة المؤهلة الذي يتضمن مجموعة من المواصفات والمعايير والاشتراطات الواجب توفيرها في المباني والمرافق والخدمات لتلائم أصحاب الهمم في دولة الإمارات، بشكل يضمن وصولهم إليها وتلقيهم الخدمات بسهولة ويسر أسوة بالآخرين من أفراد المجتمع.
وأكدت معاليها على دور كود الامارات في إدماج أصحاب الهمم في مدارس التعليم العام والتعليم العالي، حيث يتيح لهم فرصة الوصول إلى المؤسسات التعليمية والتنقل فيها باستقلالية مع توفير المرافق الخدمية التي تناسب احتياجاتهم، حيث يحتوي الكود على مواصفات البناء سهل الوصول والتنقل لأصحاب الهمم من مختلف الإعاقة، الأمر الذي يدعم تلقيهم للتعليم في بيئات مؤهلة مرحبة بهم، وأضافت معاليها أن كود الامارات سيمنح أصحاب الهمم الفرص المتساوية في الوصول إلى بيئات العمل والتنقل في مرافقها أسوة بأقرانهم، كونه يحتوي على مواصفات البناء والمرافق الواجب توفيرها في بيئات العمل لتمكين أصحاب الهمم من الوفاء بمتطلبات أعمالهم الموكلة إليهم بيسر، وبالتالي تحقيق التوظيف الدامج لهم ومشاركتهم الاجتماعية والاقتصادية في بناء الوطن. الأمر الذي يقود إلى إدماجهم المجتمعي كأعضاء فاعلين ومشاركين في عجلة التنمية الاجتماعية.
حيث تم تطوير كود الإمارات للبية المؤهلة بالتعاون مع وزارة تطوير البنية التحتية وبالإطلاع على أفضل الممارسات العالمية في هذا المجال، وأيضاً يخدم كود الإمارات كافة فئات المجتمع من كبار السن والأطفال وغيرهم بضمان وصولهم للخدمات الأساسية.
وأشارت معالي حصة بنت عيسى بوحميد إلى برنامج تبنى دولة الذي يهدف إلى تعزيز الإدماج الاجتماعي لأصحاب الهمم بين الشباب، وتعزيز التواصل بين الثقافات من خلال المشاركة والانخراط مع الوفود الرياضية المشاركة في الألعاب الإقليمية للأولمبياد الخاص، من خلال إلى مشاركة مدارس أبوظبي في الألعاب الإقليمية للأولمبياد الخاص بهدف زيادة الوعي بأصحاب الهمم وبأوضاعهم وظروفهم ومن أجل تعزيز الإدماج الاجتماعي لهم ضمن النظام المدرسي، حيث ستستضيف 18 مدرسة خاصة و15 مدرسة حكومية (من جميع المراحل الدراسية) الدول المشاركة في الألعاب الإقليمية للأولمبياد الخاص لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، وستقدم حزمة من الفعاليات والأنشطة المصاحبة للحدث.
واطلع سموه خلال الاجتماع على مبادرات هيئة المعرفة والتنمية البشرية بدبي والجهود المستمرة لتوفير تعليم ذو جودة أفضل للطلبة الإماراتيين الملتحقين بالمدارس الخاصة في إمارة دبي.
واستعرض سعادة الدكتور/ عبد الله محمد الكرم خلال الاجتماع نتائج تنفيذ برنامج محمد بن راشد للطلبة المتميزين في عامه الأول والذي أطلقه صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي "رعاه الله" كأحد برامج خطة دبي 2021 بهدف إعداد جيل إماراتي متميز دراسياً قادر على أداء دوره بفاعلية في التنمية المستقبلية لدولة الإمارات بمؤهلات وكفاءات متميزة وذلك من خلال ما يوفره البرنامج من منح دراسية للطلبة الإماراتيين لضمان إلتحاقهم بأفضل المدارس الخاصة في إمارة دبي.
كما استعرض سعادته خلال الإجتماع رحلة 9 أعوام من تنفيذ أعمال الرقابة المدرسية في المدارس الخاصة بدبي ودورها في الإرتقاء بجودة التعليم الذي يتلقاه الطلبة الإماراتيين فيها بالإضافة إلى الجهود المبذولة نحو ضمان إلتحاق 100% من الطلبة الإماراتيين في المدارس الخاصة بمدارس خاصة ضمن فئة " جيد" وما فوق وما يرتبط بذلك من مبادرات قائمة ومستقبلية لبلوغ المستهدفات الوطنية لدولة الإمارات.

I can't believe this weather. Two days back at work and there has been hardly any rain either day. Heavens, I even saw some sun today. Didn't venture out though, because I knew the little black rain clouds were just waiting to pounce. My wife was just checking the weather for tomorrow and it said "sunny intervals". I can't even remember what that means.

واطلع معالي عبدالرحمن بن محمد العويس وزير الصحة ووقاية المجتمع رئيس الهيئة الاتحادية للموارد البشرية الحكومية مجلس التعليم والموارد البشرية على مشروعات ودراسات تقدمت بها الهيئة الاتحادية للموارد البشرية الحكومية ومن شأنها تعزيز التنافسية والنهوض بمستوى ممكنات الموارد البشرية على مستوى الحكومة الاتحادية.
واستعرض معاليه دراسة حول أبرز ملامح الخدمة الممتدة للموظفين في الحكومة الاتحادية والتشريعات والأسس الداعمة لذلك حيث تم إعدادها بالاستفادة من أفضل الممارسات والتجارب العالمية وبعد مقارنات معيارية عدة ذات علاقة بالدعم وآليات التنفيذ والتكلفة المرتبطة بذلك، وغيرها من المسائل ذات العلاقة.
وأشار معاليه إلى أن هذه الدراسة تدعم الجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز كفاءة رأس المال البشري في الوزارات والجهات الاتحادية وتحسين مستويات الانتاجية والمشاركة والتناغم الوظيفي وبالتالي سعادة ورضا الموظفين وهو الأمر الذي يوفر بيئة عمل أكثر جاذبة للكفاءات والمواهب وتقدم خدمات مميزة للمتعاملين.
ولفت معاليه إلى أن الهيئة الاتحادية للموارد البشرية الحكومية كانت قد تقدمت في وقت سابق بمجموعة مبادرات ودراسات إلى مجلس التعليم والموارد البشرية تعزز تنافسية الدولة وتطلعات قيادتها الرشيدة نحو الريادة العالمية .. مشيراً إلى أنه من أبرز تلك المبادرات مشروع دراسة حول نظام العمل عن بعد في الحكومة الاتحادية الذي يوفر فرص وخيارات عمل متعددة للموظفين وينظم العلاقة بين الموظف وجهة عمله وفق أسس وقواعد مدروسة تحقق مزيداً من الإنتاجية وتضمن حقوق الطرفين ويحقق المشروع التوازن بين العمل والحياة الشخصية ويساعد في خفض التكاليف التشغيلية في الجهات الاتحادية وتوفير الخدمات الحكومية خارج ساعات العمل الرسمية وبما لا يؤثر في تحقيق الأهداف المؤسسية.
من جانبها استعرضت معالي نجلاء بنت محمد العور وزيرة تنمية المجتمع السياسات الوطنية للأسرة الهادفة الى تعزيز التماسك الأسري والسياسة الوطنية لتمكين ذوي الإعاقة والسياسة الوطنية للمسنين الهادفة إلى توفير الحياة الكريمة لهم وتعزيز مشاركتهم في المجتمع بالإضافة إلى سياسات من شأنها تحسين أوضاع المستفيدين من الضمان الاجتماعي.

Here I am in the river wearing waders and using a pole for balance together with a local guide from The Creekside Eduction Trust. These were the hardest shots to arrange as tides, weather and the availability of a guide all needed to coincide.

Located in the poverty-stricken Guizhou Province of China, Shuang He Elementary School provides eduction for 272 students from minority groups in the surrounding areas. We were able to add this new cafeteria in 2012 .

وأشاد سموه بإطلاق صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي "رعاه الله"، منصة "مدرسة" للتعليم الإلكتروني الأكبر من نوعها على مستوى العالم العربي، التي ستوفر أكثر من خمسة آلاف درس تعليمي بالفيديو مجاناً، مشيراً إلى أن المنصة هي إسهام كبير من دولة الإمارات إلى الشباب في الإمارات وباقي الدول العربية، وإلى الجهود الرامية لبناء الإنسان العربي المتقدم والمتسلح بالعلم والمعرفة الذي سيعمل على النهوض بحال وواقع الدول العربية من النواحي الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والعلمية.
وأكد سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن زايد آل نهيان أن إطلاق "مدرسة" سيوفر منصة للوصول إلى الصغار والشباب من الفئات الأكثر فقراً في الدول العربية، والتي يصعب عليها الوصول إلى تعليم جيد يضمن مستقبلاً أفضل لهم ولعائلاتهم، حيث ستُسهم المنصة في إيصال المحتوى التعليمي العربي عبر شبكة الانترنت والمنصات الرقمية والتي أصبحت متاحة للجميع بشكل أو بآخر.
وناقش المجلس خلال الاجتماع مجموعة من المواضيع الهامة، من بينها سياسة وزارة الموارد البشرية والتوطين في تحفيز القطاع الخاص على التوطين وتشجيع المواطنين على الانضمام للقطاع الخاص، والتي تضم مجموعة من المبادرات في هذا الإطار، من بينها "نادي شركاء التوطين" الذي يمنح رسوماً مخفضة وخدمات خاصة للمنشآت المشاركة، ومبادرة "أبشر" التي تمنح المواطنين العاملين في القطاع الخاص خصومات وامتيازات على أكثر من 700 خدمة.
ومن جانبه، استعرض معالي الدكتور أحمد بن عبدالله بالهول الفلاسي وزير التعليم العالي والمهارات المتقدمة أمين عام المجلس خلال الاجتماع استراتيجية المهارات المتقدمة التي يجري العمل على إعدادها حالياً، وتهدف إلى التعرف على أهم المهارات المتقدمة التي يحتاج إليها سوق العمل بدولة الإمارات.
وأشار الفلاسي إلى أن استراتيجية المهارات المتقدمة تستند إلى دراسات مكثفة حول أطر العمل والنماذج المختلفة، وأبرزها "مهارات القرن الواحد والعشرين" لمنتدى الاقتصاد العالمي ونموذج "مهارات المستقبل" لمنظمة التعاون الاقتصادي والتنمية، بهدف استقاء أهم المهارات التي من شأنها إثراء بيئة العمل الوطنية، بما يعزز من الكفاءة المهنية لجميع العاملين بالدولة من مواطنين ومقيمين ومن مختلف الشرائح العمرية على حد سواء.
وأوضح معاليه أهمية المهارات المتقدمة في ظل ما يشهده سوق العمل من تغيرات سريعة نتيجة التوجهات التقنية المتقدمة في الأتمتة باستخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي والروبوتات وتحليل البيانات الضخمة، مايجعل عملية التنبؤ بالوظائف ثانوية مقارنة بعملية تحديد المهارات المطلوبة للمستقبل لمواكبة هذه التغيرات.
وأكد معاليه أن النموذج الإماراتي يقوم على نهج شامل نواته الفرد، ويهدف إلى تطوير المهارات الناعمة كمهارة التواصل والتحليل النقدي وأيضاً المهارات التخصصية كعلوم البيانات والطباعة ثلاثية الأبعاد التي تتلاءم مع متطلبات سوق العمل المستقبلي وتواكب تغيراته.
وحضر الاجتماع معالي حسين بن إبراهيم الحمادي وزير التربية والتعليم ومعالي نورة بنت محمد الكعبي وزيرة الثقافة وتنمية المعرفة ومعالي ناصر بن ثاني جمعة الهاملي وزير الموارد البشرية والتوطين ومعالي جميلة بنت سالم مصبح المهيري وزيرة الدولة لشؤون التعليم العام، ومعالي الدكتور أحمد بن عبدالله بالهول الفلاسي وزير الدولة لشؤون التعليم العالي والمهارات المتقدمة أمين عام مجلس التعليم والموارد البشرية، ومعالي شما بنت سهيل المزروعي وزيرة الدولة لشؤون الشباب ومعالي سارة بنت يوسف الأميري وزيرة دولة لملف العلوم المتقدمة.
كما حضر الاجتماع معالي جاسم محمد بو عتابه الزعابي – رئيس مكتب أبوظبي التنفيذي ومعالي الدكتور علي راشد النعيمي رئيس دائرة التعليم والمعرفة – أبوظبي وسعادة الدكتور عبد الله محمد الكرم مديرعام هيئة المعرفة والتنمية البشرية في دبي، والسيد محمد النعيمي مدير مكتب شؤون التعليم في ديوان ولي العهد.

وتم الترحيب بسمو الشيخ عبدالله بن زايد آل نهيان فور وصوله إلى مقر شركة " أدنوك " عن طريق أحد الطلبة الإماراتيين الدارسين في اليابان وعبر شبكة متلفزة مرتبطة بالروبوت .

Benjamin Joslin shares his journey as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia with students of Perspectives Rodney D. Joslin Campus.
On Tuesday, December 16, at Perspectives Charter Schools’ Rodney D. Joslin Campus, at 1930 S. Archer, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Benjamin led a discussion that introduced the students to his experiences serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer. In a general assembly he talked about global health and environmental issues, cross-cultural understanding and the importance of community service. Peace Corps Volunteers work at the grassroots level to develop sustainable solutions that address challenges in education, health, economic development, agriculture, environment and youth development.
At Perspectives, real-world, experiential learning opportunities are integrated into classroom curriculum including welcoming visitors with a broad range of skills and professional interests to open the minds of students to the myriad professional possibilities available to them. Through partnerships with museums, businesses and other organizations as host sites for Field Studies, Perspectives develops specific curriculum that prepares students for their learning experiences, building on the 26 principles of the A Disciplined Life eduction model. Combined, these opportunities give students a "big picture" of the world around them and a sense of connectedness to the broader community.
