This is my new photo editor. Now, I can just focus on taking pictures, and she can work all that Photoshop magic. On a related note, please direct to my new editor any and all complaints regarding the unnecessary addition of unicorns and princesses to my photos. I was recently contacted by Chris Pullen, the editor of this book:

He is writing a new book about the "It Gets Better" project. He ran across my Flickr photo collage linked below, and asked if he could use it in his book.
I told him that I couldn't give him permission to use that particular collage because I don't own the rights to any of the original images. But, I offered to create a new collage in which I would get advanced permission to use the images from the photographers/subjects. For this new collage, I decided to focus specifically on friends that I have made here on Flickr.
I'm excited about being asked to participate in this project. And, at the risk of sounding mushy, I'm charmed that all of the individuals in this collage agreed to participate. I have made so many wonderful friends on Flickr who have inspired me and supported me, both creatively and personally. These are but a few who I am closest to. Unfortunately, I was not able to include every great contact I have made on Flickr. So, I hope that no one feels left out.
This is the final collage that I have submitted for publication. I also wrote the caption below, understanding that the author may or may not be able to include it and/or may need to edit or rewrite it.
"After joining Flickr.com, I quickly discovered that it's much more than a photo sharing site, it's also a social network. I have met dozens of wonderfully creative, and friendly people on Flickr, from all around the world. When I started seeing several of my Flickr friends post photos with the "it gets better" theme, I realized that it really does get better… not in spite of being gay, but because of being gay. Being gay doesn't prevent friendships, it creates friendships.
Chris Pullen asked me if he could use a collage that I had created of photos of family, friends and loved ones in this book. Instead, I offered to create this new collage specifically featuring Flickr friends from across the US, including Puerto Rico and as far-reaching as the Canada, The United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Italy and Brazil."
Editors live at Royal Albert Hall. Lovely show to raise funds for TCT. I bought a pretty bad seat but managed to ninja my way to any awesome box seat and then to a seat with an awesome view :)

8mm and Super 8 film editor purchased new by me in 1974. Took it out of box for probably first time in 20 years today and found the original sales docket from Michaels in Melbourne for $29.50.

From 220 miles above Japan, an Expedition 26 crew member onboard the International Space Station took this 800mm view of Sendai and the coast mostly north on March 13. Sunglint helps to highlight the flood waters over the land, flowing out the rivers, plus the heavy oils swirling on the surface with the currents.

Yippie activist Abbie Hoffman is arrested for wearing an American flag shirt when he shows up at a House Un American Activities Committee (HUAC) hearing October 1, 1968 investigating the clashes at the 1968 Democratic Convention.
Editor of the Realist and Yippie Paul Krassner is between Hoffman and the uniformed police officer.
His counterpart Jerry Rubin ( see flic.kr/p/TyFT9M ) showed up wearing a Viet Cong flag cape. Hoffman quipped to the press, “I regret that I have one shirt to give for my country” while Rubin shouted that police were communists for not arresting him also.
Rubin and other Yippies tried to stand in silent protest of the “unfair treatment” they received at the hands of the committee. Rubin was later escorted by police out of the hearing.
Rubin and Hoffman had already been indicated as one of the "Chicago 8," charged with conspiracy to riot at the 1968 Democratic Convention.
While being called before a HUAC hearing once ruined careers in the 1950s, activists in the 1960s were openly contemptuous of the hearings and often looked upon a subpoena to appear before the committee as a badge of honor.
Hoffman began his radical career in high school when he wrote a paper favoring atheism and his teacher in turn ripped up the paper. Hoffman attacked the teacher and was expelled.
Hoffman was active in the civil rights movement of the early 1960s and with early anti-Vietnam War efforts.
He gained attention when went with a group of supporters to the New York Stock Exchange and threw a mixture of real and fake dollar bills down to the traders below. Many booed while others scrambled to try to grab the money. Hoffman claimed that the protest was designed to expose what the traders were already doing: grabbing money.
At the massive march on the Pentagon in October 1967, Hoffman and Alan Ginsberg led a group to try to “levitate” the Pentagon.
Hoffman and his often cohort Jerry Rubin helped hone the tactic of using stunts to garner publicity for his causes.
As the antiwar movement began to subside in the early 1970s as the Vietnam War wound down, Hoffman was charged with distribution of cocaine and went underground.
After resurfacing, he was arrested with 14 others at the University of Amherst in Massachusetts protesting CIA recruiters and continued his left wing activism until his death in 1989.
In 1987 Hoffman summed up his views:
“You are talking to a leftist. I believe in the redistribution of wealth and power in the world. I believe in universal hospital care for everyone. I believe that we should not have a single homeless person in the richest country in the world. And I believe that we should not have a CIA that goes around overwhelming governments and assassinating political leaders, working for tight oligarchies around the world to protect the tight oligarchy here at home.”

Sky Magazine, put out by Delta Airlines, always has a section featuring people that travel. Most of them are writers or editors that travel the world for various pursuits. They list their favorite cities and favorite streets in those cities and of course they are cities that Delta Services. Then they will go on to list the things that they never leave home without, listing such items as hydration creams, comfortable shoes starting at $500.00 and blakets, pillows etc. All persnickety B.S. in my way of thinking. Anyhoo, I've been a road warrior for the better part of 30 years now and no one has ever asked me (a 3 million miler) to contribute to their Magazine, so By Golly I'm gonna just do it here.
I've been to 32 countries but most of my travel these days is in the good ole US of A, Save an annual trip to China a couple of trips down to Monterrey Mexico and I do enjoy a Jaunt up north to visit my Canadian Pals. Besides I get tickled to hear them talk and I Imagine they get tickled right back listening to me talk. It's a giant tickle fest. Back to the original scheduled program. These are the items that are always in my bag when I step foot on a big ole jet air ah liner. My Bose Quiet comfort head phones. My I-Pod featuring every genre of music except RAP. An extra pair of socks (just in Case). My Kindle E Reader (you remember Kindle from previous posts?) Toothbrush and Toothpaste and a clean wash cloth(sometimes I just like to freshen up with something besides the paper towel dispenser that seems to never dispense).
There you have it, maybe friends would like to post a what's in their bag pic for comparison?

Editor's Note: I chose the title for this post based on the fact that while I've heard of the internet conspiracy theory known as "Q," this is my first contact with it in real life. Robin will get it.
I had to go over to the old neighborhood a few weeks back to pick up this special prescription cat food for Bob, our ancient crypt keeper ghost cat, and I decided to take a weird route home that involved following the Kennedy Expressway out to O'Hare. Along the way while in the middle of the permanent traffic jam, I saw this guy -- I can't imagine it's not a guy, or that he's any older than, say, 30 -- next to a collection of banners he'd attached to the Sayre Street bridge advertising "Q." He saw me take this picture, so he waved and raised a camera to take a picture of me back. Now I'm probably on some web site listed as one of the awakened.
"Say, Clint," you might be asking. "What is 'Q'?" And the first thing I'll say is that this had better be the only place on the internet you ever ask that unless you want a horde of basement-dwelling teenagers holding digital pitchforks to drag you forcefully into the dark, dank underbelly of the web where everyone looks like a poorly-drawn frog and chants something like "One of us! One of us!"
Here's the deal. Q is short for "Q-Anon," which is actually supposed to be a person who first popped up on an internet sewer called 4-chan. (And if you ever want to lose all hope for humanity, spend an hour poking around 4-chan.) Sometime around the 2016 election, this Q-Anon popped up and started pretending to have special knowledge obtained from his supposed high level security clearance of an intricate and ornate conspiracy waged by evil Left Wing types that penetrated far into the bowels of the Deep State government. Also, these are the guys that said Hillary Clinton was running a child porn ring out of the basement of a pizza joint in New York City. The basic theory in recent times is that Robert Mueller is a plant working in secret with Donald Trump to untangle this Left Wing Deep State conspiracy, that there are secret indictments waiting for hundreds of Democrats, and that at some point soon the righteous will rise up and line all the Democrats against the wall, and a new glorious day will dawn when all the disaffected and abused will finally be able to climb from their basements and set their computers up in the light of day. Or something dumb like that. It's a conspiracy theory, and it's nuts.
But there is this core of sad and gullible people who have really gotten into the "Q" theory, and they've infected a bunch of folks who might otherwise seem normal. A not insignificant portion of the Fox News viewership is into it. A lot of the old white people who go to Trump rallies buy it. Your crazy uncle is probably a Q. The woman in this video is a Q.
I hate conspiracy theories. I think there is no quicker way to unravel a society than to feed a bunch of conspiracy theories to its most gullible members. These gullible types then feel like they have some sort of special knowledge, that they're somehow more in-tune with the world and smarter than everyone else -- one of the great ironies of conspiracy theory -- and they become willing to subvert every essential thing that keeps society in place in order to defend against the conspiracy.
Meanwhile, a lot of people on my side of the political fence talk about Russia and it's attempts to "hack" our elections, and some people believe that the Russians have actually physically changed the votes in our voter machines. And, yes, on some level that's taken on the degree of absurdity of the typical conspiracy theory. But I don't think Russia is some technological superpower able to penetrate deep through all our digital infrastructure and control everything. I think that, in general, Russia is a yahoo country full of rednecks, but that they were lucky enough to recognize a certain kinship with their redneck American cousins. They saw where we were most gullible (mostly in things related to white nationalism) and fed us a bunch of conspiracy theories like Pizzagate that inspired us to hack ourselves. They didn't have to hack our votes. They just hacked our brains ... or lack thereof.
