Richard Wallace, Daily Mirror newsroom General Election May 7th 2010, 1.59am, Canary Wharf, London.
Richard was sacked as editor of The Daily Mirror this week after eight years at the helm.
As my boss for a good six of those years I watched him steer the title through some great, and also, some difficult times.
Like all newspapers in the last decade The Mirror has seen dramatic circulation falls and massive cost cuts - no one will forget Richard's tears as he announced that 200 of his staff would lose their jobs.
As the 20th man to hold the position in the paper's 109 year history he took his responsibility to the readers seriously.
There were spectacular exclusives under his tenure and it's important to say that Richard also backed some great campaigns:
Hope Not Hate led the exposure of the racists behind the British National Party and Honour the Brave pushed successfully for better recognition of service personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. There were also important victories achieving fair tips for for waiting staff and for victims of Asbestos poisoning.

The program included guest speakers Shane Larsen, co-president of the National Executive Board of Pride at Work; storyteller Elizabeth McCain; and Founder and Managing Editor of Tagg Magazine Ebone Bell. Guests were greeted by AFGE national officers J. David Cox Sr., Augusta Y. Thomas and Eugene Hudson Jr.

Flood in Grand Rapids, Michigan when an ice jam blocked the flow of the Grand River.
MARCH 27, 1904 OLD Shawmut Ave and Jefferson Street looking north towards Bridge Street. Today the corner is Lake Michigan Dr. at Lexington St. N.W. Most buildings are still standing.

Editors are an English post-punk band, formed in 2002 in Stafford. Previously known as Pilot, The Pride and Snowfield, the band currently consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesizer, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (Lead guitar), and Elliott Williams (Keys, synthesizers, guitars, and backing vocals) .
Editors have so far released two platinum studio albums, and four in total, with several million combined sales. Their debut album The Back Room was released in 2005. It contained the hits "Munich" and "Blood" and the following year received a Mercury Prize nomination.
Their follow-up album An End Has a Start went to number 1 in the UK Album Chart in June 2007 and earned the band a Brit Awards nomination for best British Band. It also spawned another Top 10 hit single, "Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors". The band's third album, In This Light and on This Evening, was released in October 2009 and went straight to number 1 in the UK Album Chart. The band released their fourth studio album, The Weight of Your Love, in July 2013.
Alongside their critical acclaim and strong success in the charts, Editors have consistently enjoyed sold out tours and numerous headlining festival slots. Their brand of dark indie rock is commonly compared to the sound of bands such as Echo & the Bunnymen, Joy Division, Interpol, The Chameleons and U2.

This past year, if there is one downtown that offered up a lot of inspiration for my photography that city is Guelph. A beautiful area in the snow with plenty of historic buildings surviving, both commercial and plenty of residential.
