"A veces me relamo los labios porque extraño tu boca ultrajando la mía a tientas. ¿Dónde está tu calor, tu incendio, a dónde ha ido? Lo oscuro me da miedo. Lo oscuro, contigo, me da miedo. Temíamos al olvido y al final acabamos convirtiéndonos en sus enfermizos ectoplasmas. Por momentos, cuando duermes, te miro y tiemblo de frío.

La lluvia cae. Quizás nosotros también debiéramos hacerlo."

A stereoscopic camera explores an immersive digital space, allowing the spectator to panoramically observe his immediate location thanks to virtual reality. In this environment where only the gaze is free to move, a data center and a barber salon coexist. A radio broadcasts the Introit and Kyrie of Verdi's Requiem, one of the musical pieces that Gerardo Gentilella used to play in his barber shop in the New York Stock Exchange, where for 43 years he gave traders haircuts until his shop closed on June 30th, 2006. In March that same year, Archipelago Holdings, a firm specialized in high frequency trading, merged with the New York Stock Exchange to form NYSE Arca, a “for profit” company.

It made look like ordinary sand to the uninitiated but it was definitely ectoplasm.

weird scenes from Naples, FL, where I hope never to set foot again.

clockwise from top left:

1) the Holiday Inn Express, and the neighboring chain, was all sold out except for two handicapped rooms. we felt and heard something not right. I took this picture of the shower with Pingo and found classic ectoplasmic flashes that can't be light leaks - there was hardly any light and this is the only frame on that roll with these flashes

2) from the gift shop of the haunted Cracker Barrel across the way. you may laugh, but it was the scene of a brutal murder in the 90's.

3) the vanishing hitchhiker: as we got on the ramp back to the highway and home, a creepy hitcher sat on the side of the road. I tried to take his picture but instead got this turned over shopping cart.

4) leaving the Holiday Inn Express and a (possibly unhaunted) Waffle House)

Ella Moberg was a local policewoman working on block 23334 in sector 23223 on level 3555 but since her female alien partner was a Grub-swallower from the Cancer constellation and therefore was forced to eat 350 lbs of raw meat a day this police wage and bribes she collected was not enough, so she had to take a night-job at the local Vehicle museum as nightshift a night guard walking rounds around the big dusty spaces...

She wasn´t really all that scared of all the ghost of crashed famous aviators and silly ecto-corpses of burned-to-death Racing drivers and Ect. Ect!

Actually they bored her quite a lot... then one day the frustrated ghost managed to hotwire a walker.... The even managed to bypass systems connecting it´s water-spout-guns to the kingdom of death and Squirted poor Ella with a huge load of Ectoplasmic slime...

Poor Ella had been slimed!!!

after a night at hospital getting treatment for the state of chock, she quit her museum work and started to work nigh time for a Local criminal gang laundering Money who had been colored exploding sepia bombs at bank robberies!!! much more well payed and better for the nerves so she could provide for her partners expensive feeding habits!!!

Part of a series of photos of my campaign army for 2013.

Here, the Forgefiend "Atlas". Atlas was the second new model to be added to the army, built and painted over the course of several weeks. The Hades Autocannons used are pinned onto the model, so they can be replaced with Ectoplasm cannons when needed. However, this has the side effect of making them rotate about the pins when not held in place. The Cities of Death ruins are used to keep the right Autocannon, which is the most freely moving, upright, while the left has sufficient resistance to not move unless pushed.

See, Maths courses do come in handy!

These 3 paintings were part of a larger group, made during the Second World war, based on photographs of Nazis. Bacon sought to destroy most of the others, in which the specific source was more evident. When this triptych was first exhibited at the end of the war in 1945, it secured Bacon’s reputation. The title relates these horrific beasts to the saints traditionally portrayed at the foot of the cross in religious painting. Bacon even suggested he had intended to paint a larger crucifixion beneath which these would appear. He later related these figures to the Eumenides – the vengeful furies of Greek myth, associating them within a broader mythological tradition. Typically, Bacon drew on a range of sources for these figures, including a photograph purporting to show the materialization of ectoplasm and the work of Pablo Picasso.

The "Three Studies" were exhibited just as the Nazi concentration camps were revealed to the world, and came to be seen as expression of cruelty and despair. Their display marked the return of an artist who had nor exhibited for eight years. More importantly, it marked a huge departure in his art and the history of art in general.

The Olive Trees

Vincent van Gogh

(Dutch, 1853–1890)

Date: Saint Rémy, June-July 1889

Medium: Oil on canvas

Dimensions: 28 5/8 x 36" (72.6 x 91.4 cm)

In the blazing heat of this Mediterranean afternoon, nothing rests. Against a ground scored as if by some invisible torrent, intense green olive trees twist and crimp, capped by the rolling, dwindling hillocks of the distant Alps, beneath a light-washed sky with a bundled, ectoplasmic cloud.

After van Gogh voluntarily entered the asylum at Saint-Rémy in the south of France in the spring of 1889, he wrote his brother Theo: "I did a landscape with olive trees and also a new study of a starry sky." Later, when the pictures had dried, he sent both of them to Theo in Paris, noting: "The olive trees with the white cloud and the mountains behind, as well as the rise of the moon and the night effect, are exaggerations from the point of view of the general arrangement; the outlines are accentuated as in some old woodcuts."

Van Gogh's letters make it clear that he created this particular intense vista of the southern French landscape as a daylight partner to the visionary nocturne of his more famous canvas, The Starry Night. He felt that both pictures showed, in complementary ways, the principles he shared with his fellow painter Paul Gauguin, regarding the freedom of the artist to go beyond "the photographic and silly perfection of some painters" and intensify the experience of color and linear rhythms.

...even if you are a mighty exalted Wizard-King ruling over half of the besieged capital in a medieval kingdom...

...this time it started with an owl hooting, The Mage had just finished reading the Voynich Manuscript part three and his ancient eyes started to feel like ancient dust from a mummy´s crypt, sandman was close to his eyelids sowing seeds of sleep...

...then the owls hooting started to sound like a human voice complaining during horrible torture... it was like it uttered to worlds: yooouu, hoo-hoo, youu, Hoo-Hoo, kill, killed hoo-hoo meeee!

then a ghastly ghost started to form from ectoplasmic vapour, it was half bat, half human, it wore a wizards hat...

Paralysed by freight in his bed the mage-king couln´t even move a finger, he was frozen stiff and couldn´t move, the bat-ghost closed up to him...

it stuttered some misshapen language as twisted as its flesh...

-f-f-friend, fiend, friend, y-you, youuu killed meeee... you naaasty old maaan!!!

then two devils materialised they swayed and lurched towards him, they hissed in foul speech: Hey, Wizard-King I think you owe us some money, sssome, gold.... we want our gold you owe usss... and our massster his unholyness Belsey-Bob ruler of the brimstone dimension where lava burns flesh of creepy humans like you...

from far away he could hear the dragon rumble with it´s even more ancient wisdom than the wizard-king...

it said: hey ancient one, I was thousands of years old when you were just a wizard-whelp, how does such a fool treat an ancient creature like me? not with respect, then you send your people down my realm to harvest my power crystals, you know I will find you some day and roast you thick ugly human hide for a hundred years, I will make a slow roasting shish-kebab out of you, burn and roast your skin for eternity...

...the wizard Scremed: Go away, All of you, you are just in my imagination, bat-freak; I killed you, Yes, so what!?!?

Dragon, I respect nothing and no one who isn´t a biped, you are just an overgrown lizard...

...Devil I owe you nothing, you are just charlatans...

Now let me sleep...

...and so they didn´t they Royal-wizard was tormented for the rest of that night...

I see a face in that there ectoplasm!

The Non-Financial Taxing Profession.

This is a put the camera right up to the glass at the dirty window and shoot blindly shot. I just don't know what that is on the right. Almost looks like a human figure, no? Probably just a reflection but it is a bit spooky...

I love all those "OMG I TOTALY TOOK A PITCURE OF A GHOSTSSS!!!11" images. Flash backscatter, breath condensation, camera straps, stray hairs, fingers in front of the lens... well here's a real ghost for you. BOO! :-)

14-year-old Danny Fenton, an unpopular boy attending Casper High. He lives with eccentric ghost hunting parents and an overbearing older sister, Jazz. Upon pressure from his best friends, Sam and Tucker, he wanders inside his parent's Ghost Portal. He accidentally presses a button that zaps his entire body, infusing his DNA with ectoplasm, transforming him into a half ghost boy. Danny, who calls himself 'Danny Phantom' in ghost form, develops the ability to fly, become invisible, and turn his body intangible. Over time Danny becomes more powerful and develops other powers which he has to learn to control.

Powers : Basic Powers = Flight, intangibility, and invisibility.

Ghost Ray = An energy ball that can extend in size. It is also usable as a flashlight.

Ecto Shield = A ghost shield that can protect him by deflecting attacks.

OverShadowing = Possessing someone

Ghostly Wail = A sonic scream that can hit multiple targets. (Overuse can make him revert back to human )

Ghost Clones = Duplicate his form in two's and four's

Ghost Stinger = Advanced form of Ghost Ray

Ice Powers = Ice crystals, swords, snowballs icy blast

(Yes it's an cannon character. I liked the show for a long time)

This may not last. I made it as part of an "introduce yourself online" project.

It didn't all end with Nagasaki.

(I'm on episode two of the PBS series 'Israel - A

Twice Promised Land' about the formation of modern Israel.)

It's a neglected period of our postwar behaviour.

Small wonder. It's a disgraceful episode from our

history we choose to neglect.

Made of pure, solidified ectoplasm, astral constructs are crude, but they get the job done. Even psychics need muscle!

Fitting for something made of ectoplasm.

This photograph is issued from a video : The Last Person , in 1998 , by the Irish Artist :

Susan MacWilliam.

‘The Last Person’ was short listed for the 1999 ‘Glen Dimplex Arts Awards’ (Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin).

A strange substance (‘ectoplasm’) emerges from the medium’s mouth; hands appear and spirits are conjured up. The piece is based on the trial of Helen Duncan (1898-1956). Duncan, a medium from Portsmouth was the last person to be tried under the British Witchcraft Act of 1735. The piece uses images of the artist posing as a medium and follows some of the events described in the court reports (‘The Times’ 1944) that followed the trial. The séance room phenomena are recreated and an image of both the seductive and the macabre is presented.

The riotous colours and maniacal expressions of these flying witches carrying parade JOLs is stunning. Their skin is a ghostly white and their hair is flying wildly. The greyish tones in the middle are actually remnants of water damage from the previous owner, however, I think they kind of bleed into the colour palette of the crepe interestingly, almost like mists or ectoplasmic ghostly clouds, and so I find it only mildly noticeable. I have this one framed as well. The maker is Dennison. I wish someone would make a book on the artists who worked for the likes of Dennison, American Tissue Mills, Beistle and Luhrs. They were the real creative muscle behind the success of these companies, not the distributors.

Yūreizaka means "ghost slope" and it was believed that during the Edo period (1603-1868) that this hill was haunted as there were many temples with cemeteries that lined the hill.

Well, the day after the great Tokyo Snowpocalypse of February 8, 2014, I didn't see any ghosts, but I sure saw lots of melting white stuff, turning into a dirty, slushy ectoplasm.
