I opened Savanah's door this morning to wake her up for school and was greeting by a "horrifying" blue ghost. I collected my wits, swallowed my fear and approached this most "terrifying" entity and slowly reached out.
The whole time this blue mass of ectoplasm was making these strange tittering noises and shaking uncontrollably. My hand was inches away from it and it started making louder and louder noises. It began swaying back and forth and every so often it would lean forward.
I steeled my will and reached out and grabbed it. It made a painfully loud noise and when I tried to grab my hand back the blue ectoplasm came with me leaving in its place something even more horrifying!
Definitely worth viewind large ... if you're 'into' the unexplained. And this is less that 3 blocks from the OKC Murrah Bldg Bombing site.
Went downtown to pay a bill. Saw a ‘Ghost Sign’, not a ghost, a faded sign. I had to get That pic.! Three ‘ghost signs’ later, I remembered a photo challenge. Monument or sculpture. Always wanted a photo of this one, we called it “The Ostrich” .
A point of claity; We have a system of underground tunnels in our downtown connecting many buildings. There are entrances on almost every corner. The underground is filled with beautiful art, restaurants, and shops. One never has to deal with the weather. I visited it once 20 years ago. It was beautiful and the city maintains it well, so I’m sure it still is. However, It made me extremely uncomfortable being down there to the extent I Have NOT been back..!! When I stopped to photograph this, I did not realize it was at a tunnel entrance location, let alone “part” of an entrance.

CURIOUS ORGANISM 2009
Double entendre intended.
On one hand, the objective of this piece is to pique public curiosity in the Underground. On the other, the organism exhibits its own tongue in cheek curiosity of the tunnel and its pragmatic element. The organisi’s optic nerves and tentacles explore the underground with multisensory curiosity. Finally the curious organism is innocently captivated, as we are, by irresistible forces.
For the more serious observer, the work is a commentary on the mesmerizing effects of mainstream media, in all its forms, and how the media successfully exploit the natural curiosity and vulnerability of the human psyche.

In the blazing heat of this Mediterranean afternoon, nothing rests. Against a ground scored as if by some invisible torrent, intense green olive trees twist and crimp, capped by the rolling, dwindling hillocks of the distant Alps, beneath a light-washed sky with a bundled, ectoplasmic cloud.
After van Gogh voluntarily entered the asylum at Saint-Rémy in the south of France in the spring of 1889, he wrote his brother Theo: "I did a landscape with olive trees and also a new study of a starry sky." Later, when the pictures had dried, he sent both of them to Theo in Paris, noting: "The olive trees with the white cloud and the mountains behind, as well as the rise of the moon and the night effect, are exaggerations from the point of view of the general arrangement; the outlines are accentuated as in some old woodcuts."
Van Gogh's letters make it clear that he created this particular intense vista of the southern French landscape as a daylight partner to the visionary nocturne of his more famous canvas, The Starry Night. He felt that both pictures showed, in complementary ways, the principles he shared with his fellow painter Paul Gauguin, regarding the freedom of the artist to go beyond "the photographic and silly perfection of some painters" and intensify the experience of color and linear rhythms.

The fifth photo taken then the camera died. , It said the batteries were dead, but it continued to take about 30 pictures later that day without changing batteries.
DSCN6525( Enhanced= clarity lvl 2, Contrast-dark-mild-bold, Saturation-morecolor-strong, clarify-lvl-1 and on this one I removed my face from the glass-upper right quad. )
More blending tweaks, then re-applied the edge with Flayed One Flesh and went over it with pure white ink on the sharpest spots.
Still not 100% sure the helmet cloth should be ectoplasm or something more material?
I had these photos for about a month now but I have been doing a lot of thinking as well as others that not all breath ectoplasm are "accidental" I think it was done on purpose. My motto is never to upload anything unless I am 100% sure well at least in my mind that is was not caused by any other source besides the paranormal. That night when I was in the woods and knowing full well about breath "ectoplasm" I have discounted all of them even the ones I felt it was coming from my breath (sound weird) but it was not,it was a very different feeling as if it wanted my breath for themselves to be shown. I have few others that I did not get that same "feel" so I wont bother to upload but now I want to share some I did. In this one you have see several faces and have no doubt there are earthbound spirits.
My friend who is into paranormal wrote
"we have to keep our minds open to ways to communicate and I don't have a doubt that the spirits use whatever means available to them in order to manifest...This is not "ectoplasm" in the common use of the word...this is a whole new medium discovered by my friend Chris Abbott...his photos are amazing...I wish you could see them..."
The voices in Ploof's mind were telling him to do cold abject things, things that Ploof wanted to do, but knew he shouldn't.
"My will is strong." thought Ploof as the night wore on.

I had a lively and fruitless discussion online with some orb "believers" , and just for fun I tried to intentionally photograph "orbs" today, since it was raining and all other outside photography was on hold.
These are raindrops.The world is full of mystery when you don't know anything...

We premiered the MEATDOG trailer at Comicon with DAVID SLADE two days ago, help us get the hits up....
It does rather look as if a white shape - the spirit of wine perhaps - is rising out of the glass and forming in the trees above the drinker's head. At least it does if you've drunk enough wine yourself
Homer T. Yaryan, held sessions at his home with the medium jonson, only with people he knew, the medium was going alone, there could be no fraud. The figure was dissolved in front of everyone with good light throughout the session. UP TO 4 figures appeared at the same time. He recounts in his investigations that kitty was one of the guides of the médim jonson, one of his controls. Kitty was a girl, apparently about 12 years old, bright, ready with qualms, and of good disposition. Kitty, after 10 years she was still materialising and was the same, had not changed, she was still about 12 years old. Yaryan had at least 10 photographs of the materialisations, one is this, another was already published, a photograph of his brother materialized.

The works Historical Diagrams and Cybernetic Séance are part of the larger project HEXEN 2.0, which looks into histories of scientific research behind government programmes of mass control, investigating parallel histories of countercultural and grass roots movements. HEXEN 2.0 charts, within a framework of post-WWII U.S. governmental and military imperatives, the coming together of scientific and social sciences through the development of cybernetics, the history of the internet, the rise of Web 2.0 and increased intelligence gathering, and implications for the future of new systems of societal manipulation towards a control society. HEXEN 2.0 specifically investigates the participants of the seminal Macy Conferences (1946-1953), whose primary goal was to set the foundations for a general science of the workings of the human mind. The project simultaneously looks at diverse philosophical, literary and political responses to advances in technology including the claims of Anarcho-Primitivism and Post Leftism, Theodore Kaczynski/The Unabomber, Technogaianism and Transhumanism, and traces precursory ideas such as those of Thoreau, Warren, Heidegger and Adorno in relation to visions of utopic and dystopic futures from science-fiction literature and film.

Ancient pages filled with the atrocities of an “Elder God” have found their way into the wrong hands. A sorcerer’s apprentice, entombed for centuries, is released: Modred the Mystic is alive! This mage that summoned the hideous “Other” from these arcane pages rises to undo his evil.
Manipulating both human and superhuman allies to accomplish his ends, Modred sends a college professor and his assistants to Perfection, South Carolina. There, one page begins to wreck many lives.
As Modred schemes, The Scarlet Witch opens doorways to other dimensions and learns some doors are better left closed.
Horror and fantasy are brother and sister to “The Unknown”. Fans of the dark side of fantasy or the fantastic type of horror will enjoy this new comics series, “Darkhold”. Firmly entrenched in the history of both genres, it builds suspense through atmosphere and characterization.
Try to overlook its barely serviceable art.

It’s amazing that, in our enlightened, scientific age, millions cling to a belief in magic, and willingly suspend their disbelief to accept the illusions of ‘real’ magicians like Doug Henning and David Copperfield. That same longing for control over our world with a muttered word or arcane gesture lies at the heart of why “Dr. Strange” remains popular after almost thirty years of adventure.
It doesn’t hurt that the current artistic team is excellent, of course.
In the current adventure, Dr. Strange has discovered mystic planes are dissonant. The balance of reality is under attack by grotesque creatures with leathery wings, claws, and one eye.
Doc gestures. Ectoplasm erupts like fireworks.

A glowing cup of tonic water seems like a cup of ectoplasm. It contains quinine which fluoresces under UV (or black) light. This image was a test in building a casual shot for Iron Photographer 204. There is a B&W version that makes the cup seem to be a light source.
I've always found doors that open by themselves with nobody walking out or in kinda mysterious. Or maybe there is? Where is Jennifer Love-Hewitt when you need a Ghost Whisperer!
