Echo is the mother of Peep and Ember, whose photographs I posted earlier. Still learning the T2i on the ground before I put it into the air.

No, I wasn't harassing her when I made this. She really does look that stressed all the time.

Apparently there is a long standing tradition of unsanctioned fireworks being shot off all around Echo Park Lake on the 4th of July. We walked down to Echo Park Lake to take them in. On the way, we strolled past and under several, which was a little unnerving.

The cops kicked us out of the park, saying we were trespassing as the park was closed. Not quite true as it was only 9:30 and the signs say the park closes at 10:30. We weren't really going to start arguing with the LAPD though. This isn't the greatest photo, but I happened to catch one with Downtown L.A. in the background.
