On the way back from The Grand Canyon, we stopped to goof off in Zion National Park for two days. We checked out Echo Canyon the second day. Before this trip I haven't had a chance to check out slot canyons. We saw several along the trip. I got many opportunities to photograph in a slot canyon this trip. This is one of my favorites.

Panorama der Blue Mountains am Echo Point by lt_paris

Vom Echo Point, einem Aussichtspunkt in den Blue Moutains in der Nähe von Katoomba, bietet sich ein beeindruckendes Panorama der Blauen Berge - ein weiter Rundblick über das Jamison Valley, der links bei den Drei Schwestern beginnt. Hinter ihnen ist der Kings Tableland genannte Höhenzug zu sehen und man schaut in das Kedumba Valley hinein. Der sich daran anschließende, einem Tafelberg ähnliche Höhenzug wird - von links nach rechts - vom Mount Gibraltar, dem Mount Solitary und dem Mount Jellore gebildet. Rechts neben letzterem blickt man in das Tal des Cox Rivers hinein und kann in der Ferne den Höhenzug der Gangarang Range erkennen. In der Bildmitte ist davor eine niedrigere Erhebung zu sehen. Dort befindet sich die Ruined Castle - Zerstörtes Schloß - genannte Felsformation. An diese schließt sich rechts das Narrow Neck Plateau mit seiner charakteristischen Felswand an, das sich auf der gesamten rechten Bildseite entlang- und bis an den Echo Point heranzieht. Eine seiner Spitzen ist der Malaita Point, der rechts im Bild zu sehen ist.
