A closer look at the "P" on this building shows that the letter is taped, not painted, on to the building.

The building behind the mural is a half-built construction from about 2009.

“I would give the greatest sunset in the world for one sight of New York’s skyline. The shapes and the thought that made them. The sky over New York and the will of man made visible. What other religion do we need? And then people tell me about pilgrimages to some dank pest-hole in a jungle where they go to do homage to a crumbling temple, to a leering stone monster with a pot belly, created by some leprous savage. Is it beauty and genius they want to see? Do they seek a sense of the sublime? Let them come to New York, stand on the shore of the Hudson, look and kneel. When I see the city from my window - no, I don’t feel how small I am - but I feel that if a war came to threaten this, I would like to throw myself into space, over the city, and protect these buildings with my body."

Near the site of the gas explosion and building collapse in East Harlem. I can only think that on the day of that tragedy these chickens must have thought the sky was falling

On my way back from downtown, I bumped into Jorge Posada, veteran catcher for the NY Yankees, on 106th & Park. I said, "hey, I live right across the street. If you get hungry and want some rice and beans, drop by, man." He said, "alright, cool. Thanks, man."

The best part about this meeting is that I inherited his kung fu grip simply by shaking his hand. I just opened a can of spinach without a can opener, Popeye style. I can't wait to see what I can do with iron pipes and coal. I'll start a diamond factory.
