The concept for this Lent and Easter was to contrast the dry desert of Lent with the baptismal waters of the River Jordan. The stained glass in the sanctuary already had a small creek behind the figure of Jesus, so I expanded it into a full-sized river that bursts out of that wall toward the congregation. See the "Lent & Easter 2008" set for more pictures, including the "making of". There are over 2000 2-inch squares of different fabrics used in this, cut by lots of volunteers and applied with an iron, using Durabond on the back of the squares.

The Easter week at Shree Peetha Nilaya was as eventful as it was blessed. The spirit of Christ and His Love was ever-present among the many devotees gathered to observe the full days of prayers and services. It was a week of joy and happiness, insight and inspiration, but most importantly, a week of family and unity in the name of the Divine!

Jamie and I decided to host Easter this year, so I wanted to make some centerpieces. I'm proud of them. :)
Seems the time to post the "cute Easter bunny" shot. I took this a while ago whilst out walking my dog. It had just been mauled by another dog, luckily we rescued it, so hopefully it lived to see another day.
Curious as to what the significance of rabbits at Easter was, so I googled it. Something to do with fertility and the moon etc, to be honest it lost me. But one little snippet I learnt, rabbits are born with their eyes open. Did you know that? Nah, me neither.

A great turnout for the 115th Parkrun at Carlisle and possibly a record attendance with 260 Runners. A big thanks to Daisy and her Mum for supplying the treats at the end for all. And of course not forgetting the volunteers who make it possible each week.

Easter is the apex of the Church's liturgical year and is the solemnity upon which the rest of the year revolves. It was on the first Easter Sunday that the Lord's disciples discovered the empty tomb, indicating that Christ had risen from the dead.
By His Resurrection Jesus Christ triumphed over death, paid the debt that came through the sin of Adam, and thus opened the gates of Heaven to mankind. Thus, the Lord's Resurrection on Easter thus marks the turning point in salvation history.
It is for this reason that Christians have great reason to rejoice in the new life brought to us by the Risen Savior. Salvation has come at last! For this reason, the Church resumes the use of the word "alleluia" which is said with even greater frequency and fervor for the rest of the fifty days of the Easter season, also known as 'Paschaltide.'
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is no mere historical event relegated to history but a living reality which Christians experience again and again each year. It is an ever ancient and ever new mystery that is re-presented each year. May all discover and receive the new life to be found in the Risen Savior.

René Constanza, CSP, rector of the cathedral, and Associate Pastors Father Bill Edens, CSP, and Father Mike Cruickshank, CSP, concelebrated. Deacon Dennis Rybicki assisted. The Vigil Mass included the Service of Light and catechumens and candidates of the parish were received into full communion with the Church.

Easter Holliday is coming - and as German in Diaspora I decided to be more German as I ever was while living in Germany and doing my own coloring this year - and even more german, not chemical but with some natural colors.
I found some easy stuff to use: beetroot for red, I try a special Cherry/red currant tea for hopefully blue, spinach for green.
Traditional brown with onion is a little bit boring, you can just buy brown eggs, but I will try carrots for yellow and for addicts like me coffee for hopefully deeper brown than onion.

I’m quite pleased that I managed to make up this pattern.
The yarn is some I bought by accident, not realising that it was more like string than something you’d want to make a blanket out of! Anyway, I finally have a good use for it. :)
