The Easter week at Shree Peetha Nilaya was as eventful as it was blessed. The spirit of Christ and His Love was ever-present among the many devotees gathered to observe the full days of prayers and services. It was a week of joy and happiness, insight and inspiration, but most importantly, a week of family and unity in the name of the Divine!

A great turnout for the 115th Parkrun at Carlisle and possibly a record attendance with 260 Runners. A big thanks to Daisy and her Mum for supplying the treats at the end for all. And of course not forgetting the volunteers who make it possible each week.

Kristy only managed a few shots before her arms gave up holding the big lens !!

stitching is done, it needs to be made up

Once Evan was done with his Easter basket, I excused him so I could get some pictures of just Ava. I think she had taken almost everything out of her basket already, but I put it back in for the sake of the pictures.

Detail of the superb 14th century Easter Sepulchre on the north side of the chancel at Sibthorpe, a rare and beautifully preserved piece of medieval art.

Sibthorpe's church of St Peter has a fairly plain tower and a nave clearly reduced (north aisle demolished, south wall 17th century) but possesses another grand 14th century chancel higher than the nave. Here this is due to the church's former collegiate status, clearly it was once a much finer building.

The interior appears quite plain, but there's an impressive tomb (Edward Burnell d.1590) in the chancel flowing with Renaissance ornament (an odd, almost Mexican-looking skull at the man's feet).

But best of all is the Easter Sepulchre, a rare and virually intact 14th century piece with a risen Christ flanked by angels above a niche flanked by soldiers. The colouring is Victorian restoration, but it helps to give a lively impression of it's intended original effect, a great rarity and a real gem.

I was made very welcome here and believe the church is normally open to visitors.

The concept for this Lent and Easter was to contrast the dry desert of Lent with the baptismal waters of the River Jordan. The stained glass in the sanctuary already had a small creek behind the figure of Jesus, so I expanded it into a full-sized river that bursts out of that wall toward the congregation. See the "Lent & Easter 2008" set for more pictures, including the "making of". There are over 2000 2-inch squares of different fabrics used in this, cut by lots of volunteers and applied with an iron, using Durabond on the back of the squares.

Easter with friends at our holiday villa in Andalusia, Spain.

We went to katrinas parents and had a easter egg hunt. This is her dress she wore to church.
