Some have asked about the upstairs patio can. He's doing find. I put a cat tower out there for him that has some little condos on it and now he's got a room mate. I didn't see that coming. He gets upset if I pet are talk to the room mate but he lets me feed him ..:)

There are lots of these floats carried around the town at Easter. This is one of the smaller floats The hoods are worn so that the people carrying them cannot be identified as to do this is a penance.
The first time i heard the term Nor' Easter i figured that it had some sort of geographic meaning. Generally speaking North Eastern or simply Nor' Easter is called every major storm that starts from the Northern Atlantic ocean. The term is widely used in New England to describe severe snowstorms. Last week we got a pretty good one delivering roughly 50-55cm of snow within 10 hours of snow fall. Key difference between a simple snowy weather and a Nor Easter is the strong wind of the second (sometimes up to 70-80km/h)
Την πρωτη φορα που ακουσα τον ορο Nor' Easter φαντάστηκα οτι θα υπάρχει καποιος γεωγραφικος συσχετισμος. Γενικά μιλώντας North Eastern η απλά Nor' Easter αποκαλειται οποιαδηποτε σημαντικη καταιγιδα η οποια ξεκινά απο τον Βορειο Ατλαντικο ωκεανό. Ο ορος χρησιμοποιειται ευρυτατα στην περιοχη της Νεας Αγγλιας για την περιγραφη δυνατών χιονοθύελλων. Την περασμένη εβδομάδα δεχτηκαμε ενα αρκετα ισχυρο Nor' Easter κατα τον οποιο η συνολικη χιονοπτωση εφτασε περιπου 50-55 εκατοστα μεσα σε 10 ωρες. Σημαντικη διαφορα μεταξυ μιας απλης χιονοπτωσης και ενος Nor' Easter ειναι οι πολυ δυνατοι ανεμοι του δευτερου (καποιες φορες φτανουν τα 70-80χλμ/ωρα).

On Easter Sunday morning some 14 years ago, FEC 708 and 714 lead an intermodal north across the St. Augustine marsh past a rather poorly hidden nest from the Easter Bunny... Back then I liked to theme a shot for holidays, and with the FEC's colorful engines this seemed appropriate. At the time my brother and I seemed to struggle to ever catch the SD70M-2s lead trains on the Florida East Coast, and especially the unpainted yellow SD40-2s were all too common and not exactly the favorite if I remember correctly. Our opportunities were also a bit limited, relying on the good will of our mother to take us out here every other week or so... Fast forward to today, and I'm quite happy to have a few decent photos of the yellow SD40-2s on the FEC, as all have been in storage for years at this point, and now all but one of the Champion painted 40s have even joined them. Heber Valley Railroad dispatched four "Easter Bunny" trains between Heber City and Charleston, Utah on Saturday, April 4, 2026. While the journey was short (45 minutes), the fare was a bargain at only $5 per ticket. Perfect for families to take the kids out for a bit of fun in beautiful Heber Valley.
The 10:00 a.m. departure made for a great morning perspective, as the train returned from Charleston. This is the same time of day Rio Grande's Heber Local would arrive from Provo with a GP9 back in the 1960s. A little imagination goes a long way.
Snow capped Mt. Timpanogos makes the setting perfect. Freight cars would be nice, but I can handle a set of Pullman Green heavyweights any day. Have a great Easter Sunday.

We don't have Easter bunnies in Czechia (or Christmas bunnies - according to Thick Kevin from the movie The Boat That Rocked). We have (of course) Easter eggs in any form and we also have an Easter lambs (an obvious reference to Christian traditions). We even have a traditional cake in the shape of a lamb.
Whatever - I wish everyone a happy Easter and a wonderful spring weekend to those who don't celebrate Easter :-))
