From the NASA Earth Observatory website: On September 25, 2002, astronauts aboard the International Space Station viewed Easter Island, one of the most remote locations on Earth. Easter Island is more than 2000 miles from the closest populations on Tahiti and Chile—even more remote than astronauts orbiting at 210 n.mi. above the Earth. The island is less than 15 miles long and, until now, has been a photographic challenge for astronauts on space missions.
Although not visible here, Easter Island is perhaps most famous for the giant stone monoliths, known as Moai, that have been placed along the coastline. Archaeologists believe the island was discovered and colonized by Polynesians at about 400 AD. Subsequently, a unique culture developed. The human population grew to levels that could not be sustained by the island. A civil war resulted, and the island’s deforestation and ecosystem collapse was nearly complete. Today, a new forest (primarily eucalyptus) has been established in the center of the island (dark green).
The geography of the island is dominated by volcanic landforms, including the large crater Rana Kao at the southwest end of the island and a line of cinder cones that stretch north from the central mountain. A final feature (difficult to see) is the very long runway (Chile’s longest) near Rana Kao. The airport serves as an emergency landing site for the Space Shuttle.
The local government organized a Easter bunny meet & search at Wenigstedt beach/ Sylt island in Germany. There have been two exercises to be solved by the kids: 1) 1000 eggs where put to the sand and needed to be found. 2) the easter bunny jumped out of it´s house and needed to be catched by the kids. Great show!

Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Trinity's 10:30 Eucharist. The children's egg hunt in the courtyard and on the front lawn followed the service. It was a joyful morning!

Paper Mache Easter egg filled with treats. Formed over a balloon with Mod Podge & newspaper. "Hinged" at one end with paper trips & propped open with a dowel rod. Design carved with a craft knife. Ribbon threaded thru slots for trim.
Easter Card created with my Silhouette Cameo. Not an original idea, but I had a great time making it.
All designs were purchased from the Silhouette on line store - bunnies were whole but I used circle shapes to take strategic "bites" :)
To keep my Bernina from feeling left out - used the triple straight stitch on the blue background piece :)

A pink and brown version of the "Playdate dress pattern" from Oliver + S. Sadly, now out of print. These patterns are really well-written, quite intuitive. That said, the yoke on this dress was a little oddly constructed, but the dress was super cute in the end. The only problem is that Miss G is REALLY tall. I need to remember to add about three inches to the hem of anything I make for her in the future. Even though this was a 3T, it was so short that it was almost indecent. Thank goodness for tights at chirch.
